3BB Line Check?

Featured Replies

I recall something similar happening a maybe a year ago...

Today my Internet was off. The modem was showing the "ADSL Link" LED as green, when it should be red. I fiddled about for 10 minutes, cycled the power on the modem/router but no joy.

So I called 3BB, gave her my account number, name, phone number and immediately the Internet started working again.

I asked her if she did something, but she ignored my question and merely said the usual "Is there anything else I can do for you today?".

I should've said "Yes, answer the question", but didn't.

I wonder if this is their way of checking customers' details. huh.png

Let's see what happens next year.

Same thing has happened to me with 3bb several times and each time I phoned to report my Internet was down, suddenly a miracle, Internet springs back to life at super fast speed within seconds and when asked, no one seems to know the forces behind it`s resurrection. Maybe an act of God?

I asked around and discovered how this operates. 3bb has several packages, from the 10MB upwards. Each area is allocated several lines and each line is supposed to have a maximum amount of users, the more expensive the package then apparently the lesser users are placed on the lines meaning less clogging up and faster Internet. If a line becomes filled up then they create new lines and it starts all over again. But what 3bb do is allow lines to go over capacity and then wait until x amount of users service comes to a grinding halt before switching them over to another line. It`s not an automatic system and has to be switched over manually, probably by someone out in the far reaches of space, who knows?
