I need bifocals, I'd like progressive lenses. Yeah, I've read a bit of the drama, can someone really clue me in. Of course, looking for price.

How much should I be paying for frames, reading glasses, non progressive and progressive lenses? Anti glare coating? Thickness?

Sunglasses: I have some frames that fit my face well. They are glass and scratched. Should I replace with polycarb? Can someone quite prices for glass, poly, polarized, etc.. would just be lensed here.

Few years back I bought some nice reading glasses at Mr Eye ? Pohan Yotin. Can't recall price.

Much prefer something on MRT but at least BTS.

How long is a string? Suffice to say optical shops are on every street corner for a reason - and unfortunately for the customer it is tremendous markup on infrequent buyers rather than reasonable price. It is so bad that many or us with knowledge of prices elsewhere take the mail order option from Zenni or other such online shops - and can buy progressive lens/frames for about US $100.

But hope others can provide recommendation of a shop for you - am sure some must be better than those I have visited - but expect all will be rather expensive.

I recently got a pair of progressive lenses and frames from Washington Optical, Amarin Plaza (at the rear, on the ground floor), south side of Ploenchit Road just east of the Erawan Shrine (bomb) corner. Macdonalds & Starbuck's at the front of the building. I paid B 13,000. I think my lenses are stronger than most, so you may get away with less. English spoken. Open approx. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tues. to Sat.

Get real mate , take a walk there are hundreds of optical outlets .
