I bought 2 orchids with care instruction. One says water every 1-2 weeks, another one says every 2-3 weeks, while some friends suggest putting 3 ice cube every week. Any knows what is the best frequency of watering and how much water to add?

Thanks in advance.

So it did not say to spray the foliage daily? That seems to help with some .... then give a good watering more on an "as needed basis".... which will vary between hot dry season and wet season...

So many types of orchids that it's almost impossible to "one size fits all" answer... what kind is it? wink.png

Spray on water every day.Don't drown them. If they are in heavy coconut husks wet them once a week. Spray on fertilizer 2 times a month. Works for me. I have many kinds.

They absorb moisture from the air if there is any. Rain won't kill them. Too much sun will. They are made to grow in a forest canopy. They live through dry and rainy periods.

What fertilizer do you use/recommend?

well, i actually water my orchid every 2-3 weeks (or until the top of the potting material gets dry), let it get completely wet and allow excess water to drain away. For me, It works better this way than " 3 ice cubes per week" method. My orchid is starting to bloom again :) , 2nd round
