Night fire guts Nakoya factory in Bangkok

BANGKOK: -- A huge broke out last night at Nakoya Industrial Co Ltd in Nong Khaem district of Bangkok causing initial damages estimated at 10 million baht.

The factory which produces speakers, amplifiers locates on a four rai area and is comprised of six two-storey buildings.

The buildings are separated to three sections, the first being used as front office and warehouse, the second used to manufacture speakers and the third used as warehouse for woods used to assemble speakers.

The fire was first alerted at 8 pm to factory workers by a motorcyclist while they were having dinner at a makeshift food stall beside the factory.

The factory was closed for New Year holidays and no worker was inside.

The workers ran back to the factory and saw the fire was raging at the second section where lots of papers and woods used for the assembly of speakers were stored. They then asked residents to alert firemen and police.

Over a dozen of fire trucks arrived and managed to control the fire two hours later.

Five buildings were gutted.

There was no fire casualty but the fire gutted most materials used for the assembly of speakers. Initial damage was put at 10 million baht.

Forensic police were inspecting the scene this morning to find them exact cause of the fire.
