NRSA second deputy speaker wishes Thais intelligence and fulfillment

BANGKOK, 2 January 2016 (NNT) – The second deputy speaker of the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) wished the Thai people success and that their minds will be filled with intelligence.

Walairat Sri-arun, second deputy speaker of the NRSA, said she wished that all Thais will be successful in what they do, be filled with intelligence and wisdom, and work together to mobilize Thailand in a prosperous direction.

She also wished them longevity and happiness in life.

If the Thai people are united, she said Thailand will be a stable, strong, and sustainable country as well as be immune to all threats.

She also asked all citizens to cooperate with the NRSA, the National Legislative Assembly, and the Constitution Drafting Commission as well as help to facilitate the reform process.

She then vowed to bring a true reform to the nation for the sake of all Thais.

Surely this has been misconstrued in translation (by the rampant propaganda team at NNT)?

If not, it only serves to highlight the pathetic problem that all Thais are currently forced to endure!

One can only guess at the intelligence of anyone who makes a wish for the minds of others to be "filled with intelligence".................her apparent hopes for others to "cooperate" and be "united" can more accurately be translated as a plea for "unquestioning obedience" which should immediately be rejected by anyone with even moderate intelligence!

Clearly coming from someone, who's mind is not filled with the mentioned intelligence.......................coffee1.gif

Please, please, please let this be a translation error!

Sadly enough, I fear they are serious.

What are they going to do? Install brain buckets?

Where's the link to the original article?

This is viral material if I ever saw any!

Like the bunch that illegally grabbed control of the country and tore up the last constitution?

This. Is. Too. Bloody. Priceless.

I wish intelligence upon the people.

I wish the people weren't sooooooo stupid.

Same same, but different.

Been wishing Thai intelligence since I've been here, 15 years. giggle.gif

I would not have been able to make a living here for over 30 years had such a wish come true...?

Another thread to denigrate Thai people.

Not really. Another thread where Thai establishment takes the p*zz with its own people servants. I genuinely respect the people I deal with on a daily basis but strongly contempt the system that keeps them utter ignorant and therefore extremely vulnurable for their own country men rulers. Intelligence here is synonym for "do what we tell you, don't you dare to critize us"... It has been like that too long.

Ohh....goodness me.

Not boring. The decline in IQ ( somewhere in the magnitude of 10% over the past 20 years) should be a matter of grave concern and alarm. However, 'wishing' is not going to address the issue.

cheesy.gif ...Not likely with this educational system.

I think even a wish like that shows no sign of intelligence either...

Its a mistranslation, what she actually said was;

"Come on you stupid, moronic, miserable rabble. You are lazy and don't do anything right. Stop complaining and arguing and get back to work to make us upper classes richer. Stop whingeing about democracy and do exactly as we say an you will be OK."

You can see much the same sentiments expressed any day on Thai Visa....... maybe she is English John?

I never denigrate the people. I denigrate the system of the government treating them like mushrooms.

I denigrate my own USA government for the exact same reasons. I utterly abhor the lies spewed by the USA government every day. I utterly abhor idiotic statements from the Thai government.

The PEOPLE, whether they be Thai, USA, Panamanian, or Zimbabwean, are usually pretty nice folks.

What we laugh at and denigrate are Official statements that say "We wish you intelligence" while tossing Farcebookers in jail and curbing freedom of speech.

Meanwhile others DIE in jail over dubious transgressions that center around something they said.

Democratic OR Junta, governments around the world normally do the opposite of the right thing.

It isn't Thai specific, aside from the fact that I have a Thai wife, and have lived in Thailand off and on for 17 years.

-------------------------

For sure many will paint all Thai's with a broad brush and say that all are bad in some way.

I don't. Most are really, really nice folks. I find it sad to hear so many blaming slanty eyes and brown skin for many problems they'd most likely face at home.

Please do not paint thinking expats the same way.

I can sum up in one word all the things I do not like about Thailand.

TRAFFIC.

Aside from that it's OK.

It never snows.

-----------------------

Using your line of reasoning, I could slag off on Hillary, Obama, Trump etc, and you'd say I took every chance to say something bad about us Yanks.

Please consider just how that line of reasoning is a bit off the mark.

I don't hate nor denigrate any country........their government (or lack thereof) is/are a different story.

Why are silly (but thankfully rare) statements by the N. Korean government laughed at and denigrated, yet I doubt anyone hates the N. Korean people.

What is truly sad is that I have to use N. Korea as an example here.

------------

Please let me know when you find Utopia.

Until then folks will continue to laugh at and denigrate silly statements from the Thai government and every other government under the sun.

I wish you intelligence.

Is this a measured fact? If it is, it is probably declining exponentially which should be ringing very large warning bells---- opps' we are talking about Thailand, so doesn't matter, does It?

NOOOO. Doesn't matter at all.

Know why? Because I just wished you intelligence!

See? Now it's all better.

Wasn't it caused by the decline of iodine in salt? Or something like that?

The second deputy speaker? Sounds about as important as the PM's cat.

Just what I was thinking. My first reaction to the OP was 'Who gives a crap in any country/organisation about what a second deputy thinks?'
