Min of Interior receives third list of corruption suspects

BANGKOK, 5 January 2016 (NNT) - Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda has revealed that his deputy, Suthee Makboon, has received another list of public officials suspected of corruption from Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam.

So far, the list does not contain any high-ranking officials, and includes mostly provincial civil servants. Currently, the ministry is putting together a committee to investigate these suspects.

No details have been released regarding the number of names on the corruption list, the third of its kind produced under this administration.

Gen Anupong reiterated that the ministry is committed to rooting out corruption at every level of government, especially in provincial administrations.

The Interior Minister also commented on the recent order by Roi Et Governor Anusorn Kaewkangwan to suspend the distribution of calendars with the pictures of ex-prime ministers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra. Gen Anupong said the order fell within the governor's discretion, and he asked the public to decide for themselves whether this incident was politically motivated.

So let's get this right. Three lists and they haven't managed to get a senior official on any of them.

It begs the question as to what is the going rate to keep your name off the list.

Yes, but what has happened to the six people on the previous two lists?rolleyes.gif

And they gather these lists how? No senior officials listed? Thus all corruption must be masterminded and perpetrated by lower echelons. Ya right!

See we are doing something! Here are some token civil servant small fry. Low lying branches is as far as their campaign on corruption goes as we all know from recent events rolleyes.gif

How strange that after 3 lists still no high ranking officials have been mentioned, they must be truly honest, or immune to be mentioned.

Make your choice.

The lists have to be checked by Prem first, to make sure that no "good people" by mistake have ended up on the lists!!

When will the interior ministry submit a list of corrupted RTP and the RTA suspects. Forget about commitment to root out corruption if you don't include the list of suspects from the most corrupted government agencies.

The Interior Ministry doesn't have enough room to accommodate all the lists of corruption suspects in Thailand. Indeed; the whole City of Bangkok doesn't have enough room to accommodate such a gargantuan undertaking.

Still; it won't matter because by the time they've 'put together a committee' to examine such lists most 'suspects' will have died of natural causes some decades before or been shot before they can sing like a birdie !

How long does Prem have left?

He must be well into his 90s now.

Who will wield the power in the Privy Council when he's gone?

Why should you care ??

To be fair, The Office of The Attorney General are certainly incorruptible. The provincials are most certainly the ones to go after. However, I'm on Phuket, so may be biased ..

Because as a long-time (Non Immigrant) resident I maintain an interest in the power structure at the top.

He's arguably the chief puppet master. Do keep up, 007.
