Pakistani cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Mhd Asif may miss the ICC tournament after testing positive for steroids. Awaiting results of "B" samples.

Claim not guilty, probable accidental as a result of treatment for injuries!

Yesterday NZ beat South Africa. Australia has their first game against the WI tomorrow.

Maybe their mothers gave them it so they could lose a bit of weight and not just rely on texting women!

Warne got a year off for his weight loss pills. It'll be interesting to see what the always innocent Pakis give their players for steroid use. :o

The ageing Aussies lose to the Windies!!

Must win game for them at the weekend!

England to knock them out?

Was watching this, a train wreck at the end. The Aussies don't chase well! The game was lost earlier when Ponting dropped a sitter from the Windies eventual top scorer.

Oz makes a habit of losing early games in big tournaments.

Good for cricket that the windies performed without being shambolic! Taylor looks a good bowler too!

England v Australia for a place in the finals.

After an opening partnerhip of 83 England lost all their 10 wickets for only a further 86 runs.

All out, in 45 overs for 169! Strauss top scored with 56, Bell got 43.

Johnson and Watson each snared 3 wickets for Australia.

Australia chasing 170 to win.

Australia beat England by 6 wickets, scoring the required 170 runs in 37 overs.

The stars of the innings were West Australians, Damien Martyn and Michael Hussey. Martyn scored 78 in fast time to demoralise the English attack while Hussey played sheet anchor and carried his bat for 32 no.

The English attack looked vunerable with strike bowler Harmison picking up one late wicket, but going for nearly 10 runs per over. New English captain, Flintoff, is not bowling at the moment and also not troubling the scorers when batting.

England were totally inept and quite predictably so! We have been particularly poor at ODI for a while now and at least we can take solace in the fact that it is not just Australia who are exposing our selection policy, tactics and approach to this form of the game!

Test cricket of course is a very different story!

Oh and its not just the captain of England who is seriously short of runs - and at least he will be bowling soon!

Yes, Ponting's looked a bit ordinary so far.

The Pakistani Cricket board announced penalties for their drug cheats tonight.

Shoaib Akhtar has been banned for two years and Asif for one.

Both will miss next years world cup.

(Australia beat NZ by 34 runs in the semi-final tonight. To play winner of WI v RSA in the final on Sunday.)

Windies make the final by hammering South Africa. Should be a good final!

Not hard to guess which side you'll be following this time Mittheimp! You've been on at least three diffent teams so far. It's England and anyone playing Australia, right?

hey thats no quite true! I backed West Indies before the comp started at good odds so i have a good reason to want them to win. Windies have always been my second team anyway - so it would be great to see them become a force again!

Sorry about your money Mittheimp.

The Windies need to get a bit of backbone down the order before they become a real force again. :o

i was counting my money after 6 overs - but i should never feel confident with the windies until the game is over!
