Free New Mobile Phone Number Help

Featured Replies

FYI......

The small phone shop next to Coffee World in Tesco will update your SIM card for you for free. They remove your SIM card and place it in a computer and then all your mobile phone numbers on your SIM card will have the new requisite 8 placed in the proper place. I don't think it matters what service you have (DTAC, etc.) I had about 50 phone numbers and it updated everything correctly.

Good info tip mafaso. I have over 100 numbers in my sim and was not looking forward to manually updating them all.

I just told my wife this but too late, she just did manual add 8 a few days back :o

So, off to Tesco Bloat-Us for me this Sat avo, eh?

Depends on your phone. Mine is a Sony Ericsson, and if I had it updated I would lose some of the information, (such as full names in my contacts list). If you have a simplified contacts list, it's OK. I could have had the numbers updated, but then I'd have to update the names. So I thought easier just to add in the extra "8" manually. The new number takes effect end of October, but I think a lot of people have not yet switched.
