Converting printed photos to digital in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm wondering if anybody knows of a place in Chiang Mai that scans printed photos into digital ones? Preferably a place that does good quality ones and at a decent price as I have about 2 photo albums worth of pictures!

Thanks.

Buy a decent copier with scanner. They are available everywhere. You'll use it for many other things.

Small graffic shop on Chang Moi road, opposite Tha Pae soi 2 and nex doort to the only wat on Chang Moi, have had scans done there, good service. Funny how on this site, someone asks about bus service, someone will say buy a scooter, ask about scanning service....buy a scanner, rolleyes.gif

I did a similar thing as I had 100s of photos, a heap of colour and B & W negatives, and 4000+ colour slides.

In the case of negatives and slides, you'll need a different type of scanner; Canon has one, and this scans through the negatives, allowing you to make prints or copies.

If you have prints only, then a standard scanner as suggested by Trujillo would be the way to go.

Make sure you have bulk tanks fitted to the computer. Cost me 600 Baht, and no more buying expensive mini-tanks. Refills 100 baht.

That`s exactly what I done. I brought all my printed photos over to Thailand with me, hundreds of them. Then after a few years the photos began to deteriorate, colours fading or turning purple because of the humid conditions. Then scanned them and restored using photo editing software. It is a very time consuming process but being retired, time is what I have plenty of.
