US turning to UN over flow of Central American migrants

WASHINGTON: -- The US is looking to the United Nations for help in dealing with thousands of migrants fleeing to the US to escape violence in Central America.

The hope is that the UN High Commissioner for Refugees will set up processing centres for people to apply for resettlement in the region.

The centres would be located in several Central American countries. Over 68,000 unaccompanied children were apprehended by US immigration authorities in 2014.

There are certain similarities to the situation in Europe. There are people entering the US illegally and some of them may be refugees and many are not. If they are processed outside the US, then they can be resettled in an orderly manner. Entering as an illegal immigrant runs a risk of deportation and it's a little late to claim refugee status when your on the truck headed back to the border.

Many of those escaping violence are fleeing to other countries, not just the US.

"Escape violence..." B..S...! It is 100% pretext. By this mechanism Obama seeks to associate his (EU/Merkel) no borders policy with an additional supranational mandate. Like any Leftist will eventually, change word meaning and you change facts on the ground. Label a new category of people, perhaps "economic refugees" or "violence refugees" and then you can jam more crap down America's throat through other legislative wooden horses. Following the logic being painfully exercised here there is now no limit to what is a "refugee" and what is not. All manner of fiat border controls can be surrendered under the premise that any thing so labeled has legitimacy. If you cannot change the facts change the meaning of words.

America has no legal or even moral duty to aid others from such risks, perils, and hazards when the same or worse exists at home. Even insurance companies would not insure this fantasy premise; why should America's children and posterity?
