where to buy vintage linen suit in Bangkok

Featured Replies

I am about to have a wedding on the beach and would love to find a nice vintage linen suit to wear. Anyone have any idea where I can find one in Bangkok?

If not a vintage one then any will do.

I have attached a few pics of what I'm going for

Thanks for the reply, but from what I know of the tailors in Bangkok, I want to avoid them. That's why I want to buy an already made suit, either vintage or new.

On the basement floor of the Night Bazaar (opposite Nana Plaza) there is an Indian tailor that has always done very good work for me, working on a basis of trust. i can recommend him. Three days for a suit.

If you can't afford to get a suit made you certainly can't afford to get married.

cooked - i like your "drunken ex-hippie" tag, but unfortunately you're a moron. not wanting to use a shitty tailor who will use subpar cloth and then sew it like shit does not equate to not being able to afford it.

not to mention I'm marrying a woman who happens to not be a gold digger, so its a moot point. maybe your old and fat or some shit so you need lots of money to keep your woman happy, who knows.

Let me know if u find a good place, I'm far from impressed with the "suits" the Indian tailors come up with.

There are some very good tailors in BKK using high quality Brit fabrics (tropical wool is a great traveler) but you will not find them in the touristy haunts with the pimp out from dragging in the rubes. Oriental Tailors is one of them, have used them for many years (usually three fittings required). Close to the Oriental Hotel, and there are sveral others such in the neighborhood.

I'm a moron, thanks I already knew that. Fortunately I am still sufficiently unmoronic not to insult people that are trying to help. I'll make an exception in your case. I'm old yes, fat, no, my wife doesn't rip off my pension money, thanks very much.

This guy gives excellent value as I mentioned.

I have excellent trousers and shirts that he made four years ago, still good, not shit.

So since you came up with the word, why don't you go shit yourself?

not many used clothes shops , and then they would buy "Thai size" anyway, and probably not linen suits to resell

Probably too late for Ebay :)

keeniau96 - thanks for the advice, the tailors I heard about are of course the ones around the tourist haunts. i just tried to check out Oriental Tailors online but couldn't find anything. Do you know their website or anything?
