Nakhon Sawan to Chiang Mai trip

Went on the 11th, 1020 from Nakhon Sawan arrived in Chiang Mai Arcade at 1700. Travel with Sombat Tours ( Supreme on the side ) 777bts single, single decker.

Seats in rows of 3 so very big and comfortable seats which massaged your back if you wish. Back of the seat onboard entertainment screen. Suspension very good, no lurching about, engine seemed to be well serviced and had some good acceleration though the driver was very good, no crazy over taking, food was good and service was as well. Did not call at KPP , Tak or Lampang but a few roadside drop offs. Would travel with this company again, very good.

Came back by train on the 16th 0850 due Nakhon Sawan 1620 ( actual 1630 ). THis is a much more scenic journey to Uttaradit then its flat. The train desperately needed refurbishment, looked like it had seen very little since its 1996 build in South Korea, some windows dirty and misted up, seats and fittings just hanging in there, actual motors on the 3 car unit ( special express) performed well and the driving was good, slowing down for poor track so the ride was not too bad. Food was not good as I expected and took a couple of bacon rolls as my insurance. Rail fare inc reserved seats and food was as advertised I think 537 bts ( 505 kms) Staff on the network all good everywhere we went, just need money spent on the system, a lot of money. But if time is not a problem and you take your own food then you see a different Thailand and its worth considering it.
