Retirement extension due next week. Jomtien now requires the TM30 form (Notification of Foreigner Residing at Property). Our Landlord is not resident in Thailand so will my Thai wife be able to sign this form submission without any other documentary support apart from possibly her signed ID card and blue book copies?

Thanks,

NL

Your wife could do the TM30 form but a rental agreement with her name on it would certainly be required.

Thanks joe, her name is already on the Thai/English house rental contract along with mine.

I will do a pre-emptive strike at Jomtien Immigration this morning with my pile of paperwork, see if they want anything different and post for others.

PS. Is there a sample of a completed TM30 available? The form is a bit ambiguous in that page 1 for the 'house master' has space for 2 addresses. Would my wife place her home (Udon blue book) address first and then the Pattaya rental address second OR would both addresses be the latter? Page 2 is clear enough with my personal info inserted.

I don't recall seeing an example.

Since she will signing as the possessor she would use the same address in both spaces since her present address is the same as the reported address.

Cheers joe, makes sense to me. I will see what they say this morning, see if they agree and post accordingly.

When i filled this form about ten days (jomtien) ago i put my name and address in both places. I own my condo but i was not asked if i rent, own or why i stay where i told i am staying. Filled tm30 + receipt of cleaning was enough. Receipt had my name and address on it..

Dropped by around 2 p.m. and it was a bit of a zoo but I managed to get one of the assistants attention and she said the TM30 was not required. Asked twice to make sure. In hindsight, she maybe missed the fact that it was a retirement extension and assumed that when I mentioned my wife and showed her the bi-lingual rental contract with both our names on it that it was about a marriage extension?

Either way, I will complete the TM30 with my wife's present address in both places and have it ready to submit if they ask for it. Submitting 2 days before expiration of current one just in case they pull something out of their <deleted> that needs extra legwork.

I did my annual renewal less than a month ago at Jomtien. I was not asked for a TM.30

Ditto. I received a retirement extension at Jomtien this month and was not asked for a TM.30 (nor do I have on on file.) Not sure why "TM.30 needed in Jomtien for retirement extension" keeps popping up.

Renewed last week. I have moved, but no TM 30 requested. Who knows what's going on - if anything? Maybe it depends on who you see or how they view the applicant?

My friend went there a couple of months ago with his Cambodian wife and the first thing they demanded was a TM 30.

"Go figure...."

Hi Mobi. How long did it take and what day did you chose to renew on? Did you also get a re-entry permit or are you a 90-day reporter? I hope I can do the extension and get a re-entry permit same day.

Arrived at 9:30 and was given waiting ticket number 819, Went to desk #8 where they were already serving customer number 818. Checked, submitted, paid and out the door at 9:50 so went and had a double-egg SOS breakfast at Rich Man Poor Man.

They only wanted one TM7 form, one picture and one signed copy of the home rental agreement, homeowners ID card and blue book and the passport data pages plus the original embassy income letter. Collection tomorrow after 2 PM where I can also apply for the re-entry permit as the guy says it will only take '10 minutes.'

Immigration was quiet today but notably the whole of Pattaya has been really quiet since the current cold snap kicked in. I hope it's still cool tomorrow afternoon!

Sorry for the delay in replying - only just spotted it.

A bit superfluous now, but it was a Tuesday and was very quick. I usually get a multiple re-entry but this time, just a single entry as I'm not planning any trips. Yes, I renew annually.
