Hey guys,

I am considering going to Kuala Lumpur as soon as my thai visa expires, in the beginning of february. Why Kuala Lumpur and not Penang ? Because it's much more convenient with my flights, and the Kuala Lumpur embassy is only closed 1 day during CNY.

I had 2 thai visas back to back last year (1 single entry and 1 triple entry = 12 months).
I just want to apply for a single entry tourist visa (2 months) and leave Thailand in april.

I know Kuala Lumpur embassy is known for being quite hard, is it still the case ? I checked the reports in the regions http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/189375-latest-reports-of-getting-a-visa-in-the-region/ but the latest ones were last year or before.

Any recent reports here ? Do you think it will be ok even with my previous visas ? I don't mind providing tickets IN & OUT of Thailand, accomodation... or getting dressed properly.

Thanks :)

Myself and husband and two kids applied for a 60 day tourist visa in KL in November. We had no problems at all. We had all the documents required, even our marriage certificate and in out tickets. Applied on the Monday morning and got them on Wednesday afternoon.

We waited about two hours on the Monday as it was very busy but the collection was very straight forward.

Hope this helps

Kuala Lumpur as all Thai Consulates are clamping down on visas and as such I would recommend you have everything in order and not just arrive with hearsay documents.

Tourists arriving in Thailand must ensure they have the correct Visa for which their intended purpose of stay is.

If you do not possess the correct Visa within your passport or documentation when making an application you may be refused.

Most of the recent reports have been denials.

If this is the case they may as well shut down the visa section no point in having it just to refuse application.

Can someone give an example of a 'hearsay document'?

Yes, but we all know people who try using them.

For example, yes we are not married, but she claims on the birth certificate that I am the father.

am

Don't get me wrong, I sympathize ...... I tried that same tack years ago in Vietnam.

Didn't work for me then, either.

But that's another story.

A few French guys were refused a few weeks back. Apparently they had all the requirements needed, they had to go back to Penang.
