Pattaya is one of the best party cities in the world

I first went there in 1994, and apart from a few better shops and more perverts around I don't see much difference on the odd occasions I have been back since. The whole place is just vile.

i agree. the place has not changed much in the 8 years i have lived there. its still great, except for the price gouging on walking street but thats only for tourists anyway. i still get 60baht beers and 1000tb girls so all good on my end.

london, new york, new orleans, reykjavic, las vegas, barcelona, sydney, rio - for starters.

Pattaya is fun as said before but take away the girls and good weather and has little. No great music venues, clubs or bars. It is what it is.

Try partying in London or New York on $100 a day, best of luck.

Its talking about cheapest party place or best its mean cheap?

PS

IN London i remember( not good and not all) but few day with out 1 penny.

Definitely depends on how one defines having a "good time".

If girls and good weather are not an important component, then sure, have fun bonding with the guys in the ice and snow of New York and Reykjavic. Or enjoy the thrill of handing your cash over to the casino billionaires of Vegas.

For me, a night in Pattaya is the very definition of a "good time", and the price is right too!

Why snow its bot good weather?

Where in pattaya girls? 90% it prostitute. Yes ofcouse can find who not really ask you for money but it for her JOB and way make money.

In London alot fun with girl, women . Just who spell witg you time and want sex.

In HK alot 25-35 girls who all week work and at friday and sat come JUST for FUN not for mobey, becouse NEED man!!

about some comfort and different type party I even do not say.

In London, Berlin, Moscow do not know where go at fri , vecouse so many choice with different DJ, Bands .

How about jazz? Etc?

Or morning after hard night drinks go to sauna take a rest little eat get massage and sleep..

;)

Yes Pattay its party Place and if people positive have fun evrywhere.

But it Pattay jus simple and not big choice .

Yes in Pattay some is cheap. But you almast get hiw much you pay.

Where else can a 70 year old grandpa party all night and get all the girls he wants? Only in Pattaya.

When the posters on this forum approach that age, most will be singing a different song than now.

Life is very short.

Especially in Pattaya whistling.gif

When the op says he's lived in Pattaya does he mean stayed there as he cant be bothered to leave because of drink & ladies

Staying isn't living it's getting by

I live in a beachfront condo in Naklua. It's nothing resembling "getting by" as you mentioned. I work in Rayong and that is the primary reason for living here. Not sure how that has any relevance to the discussion about whether Pattaya is a great party city.

I choose to go into Pattaya to party when I want to. I enjoy my quiet life in my condo most of the time. When I feel like partying, I get on a taxi or baht bus and go into Pattaya. Most of the time I have a really good time. And that is why from my point of view it's the best party city I have ever been to.

I keep hearing that mentality (Pattaya has gone bad) and yet the place seems great to me. What do you guys miss? I suppose the attitudes and prices of yesteryear?

Most everyone misses his blissful honeymoon period in Thailand. Unfortunately many a poster just can't accept that all honeymoons must end. Childish, innit?

Adults, on the other hand, are realistic enough to go on to (cough) enjoy the marriage or at least gracefully accept the divorce. Disillusioned honeymooners tend to express a lot of sour grapes and contend that you somehow shouldn't be continuing to enjoy yourself. You should join them in miserable bashing from afar, maybe in some village watching rice grow or in a polluted landlocked northern city. Give up the seaview, the go-go bars, the double-bubble sandwich massages. Stop all that bein' a hansum man! What if you wandered into a (gasp!) Starbucks. So many dangers. (There--threw in one o' the forum w@nk-words. Go for it.)

In any Pattaya quality-of-life assessment thread, bashers will tend to dominate. New ones spring up daily, thinking they're saying something new (believe it or not) and wise. Most don't actually live here, just have unhealthy obsession with our beloved cesspool and its diverse, colorful, self-indulgent cesspoolians. There's always gonna be more of them than of you. They tend to drive out the good posters who've actually got something helpful to say. Years ago Mobi once wrote a great farewell post explaining 'bout this.

Pattaya isn't "real" Thailand but TVF Pattaya isn't real Pattaya. The vast majority of those thousands living here long-term contentedly, even blissfully, aren't bothering to post, having better things to do than defend their happiness (and their condo) to trolls, bashers, bigots, haters, and renters whose business it isn't. Remember, for every basher there are a thousand Brits living in council estates in Blighty who'd like nothing better than to live here long-term. What's w/ all that whimpering about visa tightening and overstay crackdowns? wink.png

Twenty years ago you'd have heard the same blather in the Mailbag section of the Pattaya Mail. Trust me. You can look it up online.

Hence you just need to filter out (literally, even) Pattaya's dreary critics as you dare carry on enjoying yourself as a hansum man even in the face of their bewilderment and condemnations.

Here are some threads w/ quite a few positive posts: When boredom starts to rule the day, I Love Pattaya, and Why live in Pattaya?.

Really well said, this one post makes up for thousand negative posts about our beloved dirty little town!

Glad you are back :)

Thank you! Well, I've just been enjoying myself here in Sin City as always. Lots to do here besides, you know, just drinkin' & enjoying threesomes and soapies all the time--which ain't too bad, come down to it. I do hope I can always stay out of jail! smile.png I read the forum regularly but don't post any more for various reasons that make it no longer worth the time to do so. Now I've decided to warm up for the posting of the Songkran FAQ in early March. Hopefully I can have a few laughs while doing so and not get banned. I've been writing in the FAQ now and then over the past year, so it has new good stuff. wink.png

crime, disease, violence, terrible traffic, tacky bars, corrupt cops, dirty beach and polluted sea plus thousands of ugly thick as bricks prostitutes who the customers have zero in common with, not much fun. Place is for the desperate and the mugs.

There is also an age factor to consider. I am 77 and can only imagine what I would be able to take home in most of the cities on your list. Here in Pattaya the girls could care less. I also have a house on the dark side and rarely venture into the beach areas after dark. There are lots of good bars on the east side of Sukhumvit where you get to know the other "regulars" from all over the world and the girls all get to know you and are affordable. Can't find that anywhere else that I know of except perhaps Manila the last time I was there.

Now the real world for bar girls.

They dont like old men, they want MONEY,

Many older gents from the West still comes here to live their retirement years here and if you can get a nice hobby and not hit the bars every day you can have a good healthy life here.

And if you are looking for a party you can always find one, even on a Monday if needed.

I just had some friends visiting and one of them brought his son with him. They wanted me to show them walking street because they heard abut it I guess. I haven't been there since 6 months ago .

Well it was crowded last night , like I mean really crowded.

It was a crazy and noisy mix , Chinese who followed their flag leader, Russian families, young guys in party mood , wheel chair guys, clowns , dwarfs, beggars, a big ladyboy with silicon boobs, girls and ugly men trying to grab you all the time and offer shows somewhere for 300 baht. It was a brutal shock for my guests but I warned them about this, how can people even stop and have a drink there is beyond my imagination.

We just walked through it and that was it , I hope it will be 6 months until next time.

Pattaya is fun city but there are times when you just want to not live in a tourist party town and live in a more normal place. Other than the crime my biggest problem was finding a lady. Not at hooker but a real lady who works a normal job. Also when you do bring a lady there everyone assumes she is a hooker. Living in Bkk now and office girls by the thousands and never a bar fine or talk of money. I love Bangkok :)

I don't disagree with what you are saying, but it's not really relevant to whether or not Pattaya is a great party city.

I live in Naklua to stay away from the madness on a daily basis. I choose to party when I want to. I don't need thousands of office girls to choose from. I found a nice office girl and I'm happy with her. And we enjoy to go to and party and dance sometimes.

Good thing about Pattaya is if you want an office girl you just select the girl you want and dress her up. Next night she can be a nurse

Comparing the Pattaya of today to 15 to 20 years ago, it brings tears to my eyes and those are not tears of joy.

Well, I guess you had to be there during those days. Otherwise a comparison is not possible.

Cheers.

I can attest to that statement. Back in June 1998 when I was in "Uncle Sam's Navy, we pulled in to Pattaya Beach and it was like I landed on The Moon. The discos I like was Disco Duck, Grace Disco, and Marine Disco. All three were deemed Off-Limits to all service members. However, many of the sailors that was on my ship was in the Off-Limits Discos and I was one of them. Since 1998, I have not been the same since. I wish I could go back to those days.
