January 25, 201610 yr I need to get hold of Tempeh. I am told it is a vegetarian product similar to Tofu but made from fermented beans in Indonesia. Does anyone know if it sold here in Chiang Mai?
January 25, 201610 yr Several health food stores carry it too. But where as tofu is soft and smooth-textured, Tempeh looks more like cream-colored peanut brittle... you can still see the soybeans bound together in the 'cake.' I like it fried lightly in a little olive oil as a substitute for meat (sausage or ham) with breakfast now and then.
January 26, 201610 yr Tempeh is from Indonesia. Suggest you try Indo food shops, if any in CM. Unlike tofu, tempeh is fermented and IMO, very delicious and ultra nutritious.
February 23, 20179 yr You can buy it from Tempeh Chiang Mai check their Facebook Page, they sell to most of the CM vegetarian restaurants but also to Tempeh Lovers (like me)
