Most of the times, the search result show threads which have many pages. But, on clicking the link, it takes to the first page of that topic and not to the particular page where the search word is located. Is there any way to go directly to that page or do we have to go through all the pages to get to the information?

Sorry, just now saw the post. If you look at the bottom right of the search screen you will see "Result Type" select "Show results as posts" and only the posts with the search word(s) will be displayed. That could still give a pretty long list, but think it is the best that can be done. You could narrow it down a little more by searching topic titles rather then content.
