January 29, 201610 yr Fitbit does not provide a reliable heart rate. Only a monitor that is worn over the chest can provide reliable data. It is why cardiac rehab programs and training athletes favour the Polar group of monitors. I ordered mine on Amazon. I didn't take the one that downloads onto my laptop as it's unnecessary for basic exercise. If you establish a pattern and know your numbers after a month of training it's fine.
