Hello I'm running low on Simvastatin and don't really want to go to the doctor's to be charged an extra 500B and prescribed extra medication I don't need. Does anyone know if and where I can buy simvastatin (by Zimmex if possible) over the counter at a pharmacy? Also has anyone using this medication noticed any differences if they have switched brands as I know there are a few companies which make this medicine. Thanks!

You probably should see doctor to check blood (both lipids and liver functions) on a regular basis when taking such medications - but you can buy them at almost any drug store (normally cheaper than from doctor or hospital).

Zimmex can he bought without a prescription at any drug store, and the price is very low (about 100 baht for 30 of the 10 mg tabs). It's available in several dosages - just ask for the one you normally take.

Almost all pharmecies have it, up to 40mg pills. Not expensive.
