i got charged twice on my visa bangkok bank for my air tickets. I booked on 01.02.2016 1st time on the day i bought the tickets. I recieved SMS from Bangkok stating the time of transaction and bal.amt.

2nd time 4 days after on 04.02.2016 I got charge again same exact amt.

bangkok bank sent me sms on the 1st time updating me of tramsaction n bal.

2nd time no.

When I called in to Bangkok Bank. they confirm it was jetstar that took the amt from me the 1st time on 01.02 and the 2nd time on 04.02

it was on 04.02 that i had some transfers coming in at 10pm that when i saw my balance it didnt add up, so i went straight to the ATM

to request for ledger balance and found this out. upon asking bangkok bank what happen they told me this.

When I ask why they did not send me sms informing me of the transaction the customer svc in bangkok bank told me

when jetstar took my money a second time they will not inform me. which is not right as every transaction no matter what who how bangkok must

inform me when there is money going in or out of my account. and after some checking the customer svc said they did send but it might be problem with

dtac my service provider !!! i wonder what information the bangkok bank customer svc gave is true.. and she advice me to call jetstar so jetstar can liase for me.

NOw i Called jetstar and jetstar said on their side they did not deduct the amt from me 2 times. so they will not be following up on their side and i need to go get the bank statement from the bank to follow up on myself.

anyone with experience on this? please kindly advice. I feel pretty fxxked here.

You need to continue to deal with the card-issuing bank, Bangkok Bank in this case. Visa is just the middle man between the vendor/merchant (Jetstar in this case) and the payment source which is your Bangkok Bank account in this case. But it couldn't hurt to continue to bend JetStar's ear also, but I expect you'll need to talk to their accounting department.

Sometimes what can happen is a vendor processes a transaction, it hits your account, but something still did not process correctly on the vendor's side to where they got the payment...yes your account was debited/charged but the vendor still didn't receive it on their end. So, they initiate another transaction and cancel the old transaction. Unfortunately the redone transaction hits your account "immediately" where the cancellation can take a couple of business days to hit your account.
