I stayed at the hotel next to the Hooters in Bangkok. I checked the menu and the prices they are charging are even more than they charge in the states. I assume their business will be off of tourist that know nothing better about prices. I suppose it has to do with import taxes or something ? But the prices are just plain stupid. We will see how long they remain in Thailand.

A small bottle of Singha is not an import and at 140 plus tax and service it surpasses most places in Pattaya.

I didn't even care to check prices for fancy import stuff.

Hooters is facing a dire future indeed. Dire. Our connoisseurs of the finest in female beauty will not be among its patrons. Nor will be our impecunious normally eating from street food carts until they can find some easy money.

But now comes the MOST disappointing news of all: we zombies enjoying Hooters will be deprived of exposure to challenging intellectual conversation. There I was hoping to discuss with the greatest independent thinkers on the forum the Principia Mathematica or The Aims of Education and Other Essays and esp. The Constitution Of Liberty. Or perhaps the wisdom of Edmund Burke's speech to the House Of Commons on 22 March 1775.

Alas, no!

I do not like Hooters for one basic reason--and it appears Hooters is enforcing that mandate in Thailand too--the girls are required to wear pantyhose.

Hooters seems to offer a nostalgic destination for 'muricans in need of bromancing, not a niche of interest to me. Sort of ironic though, if it's Russians running the franchise. The good old days of cold war seem to be gone.

And quite a few members have attested that they like the food. Maybe you could request an image of their passports, since nationality is so important to you? You don't know 'cause you won't go there 'cause the girls don't look above bar girl average to you. For example, one of the biggest quests on the forum is for a good burger. Hooters certainly has a few types and as burgers go, they're great. But much else, too, a variety. Even "healthy" food. If you can afford it of course. It's hardly a "junk food joint" as one of our silly haters contends. BTW, the menu at the resto is, I think, more extensive than the online menu.

Well, you just pulled that nonsense outta your hat, unsurprisingly, for a quick 'murican bash. Instead of little comforting fantasies, why not come up with something objectively valid, like no Brit bromancing over fish & chips & footy? And no Old Speckled Hen?

Unfortunately, they most likely will remain as part of the lure for quality tourists; ones who spend as much or more than they do at home for the same products or services. Look around you; the more farangs you see, the more of those types there are, and the more expensive it is.

Nothing more positive for a business than good ol' TVF doomsayin'. Means it's probably a good time to invest in Hooters. I once noted to a hater of Big C that if instead of hating he'd faced reality and just invested in it, he'd have made 70% that very year. This kind of uncomfortable reasoning is always ignored. Feels too good to KNOW the future. Yet we haven't heard many predictions of Big C's certain demise lately here . . . fact, TCC just bought Casino's shares at an 11% premium and the price is already up around 12% this year.

Nonsense just keeps gettin' thicker. There's never been touching of the waitresses in any of the legit restaurants around town; that's never been an issue. Why should there be at Hooters then? Hooters doesn't offer lap dances in the USA either, as it's far from a strip club. You know that very well. Besides, aren't Hooters girls so unattractive that you wouldn't want a lap dance anyway? I mean, if you went there, but after all you won't be going.

This is just part of the continuing attempt to pretend that Hooters is a beer bar or go-go bar to make false unfavorable comparisons. Earlier you did this w/ your comparison of the Hooters waitresses to bar girls. Looks like you're just not gonna give up this lie--for trolling purposes, of course.

Hardly a place to chat with friends unless you sit out front, the live band were quite loud, albeit pretty good.

The service girls are attractive and try their best but were overwhelmed.

It is open-air so a little on the warm side and you get smoke with your food.

Food itself did not impress me and the prices are on the high side.

Claiming there is nowhere else to sit and have a chat and drink with friends in Pattaya is a ridiculous claim.

So far so good, reviewer. Me, I wouldn't go there at night as I'm sure I wouldn't like the band unless it happened Snowman was playing blues/rock. I'd be deathly afraid of hearing "Hotel California." And it would surely be too loud. Music just doesn't sound as good thru cheap earplugs.

Be nice if the Banglumpoo Band visited. But then they'd seem really out-of-place at Hooters: need to find a appropriate dive around town . . . .
