KRABI: -- A group of 6 tourists, including two minors and four adults are stranded on Mai Phai island off Krabi after the long-tail boat they were traveling on was unable to return them to shore due to rough conditions at sea.

Officials at Noparat Thara - Phi Phi Islands National Park have ordered all small boats to avoid any unnecessary travel, with strong winds and waves forecast to carry on in the Phang Nga Bay through to tomorrow. Earlier February 7 in the same national park, a long tail boat full of six Chinese tourists capsized after it was reportedly struck by two to three meter high waves.

the locals will have taken good care of them ...welcome to the REAL thailandwai2.gif

Good call to not venture out in a longtail in 2-3 meter waves.

Can hardly believe they enjoy after watching a boat turning over in the waves.

1 Tourist drowned and 3 wounded.

Not the best scene at your holiday paradise.

At least a good call to stop them from leaving the island and provide food an shelter.

......better than the alternative....unless they get 'gouged' due to 'lack of accommodations'......

They could form the Mai Phai Island bridge club to keep themselves occupied, and any police within 100 miles, busy.

WOW!!!!! how does this get on Thai Visa news

Maybe they should ask the people standing if they would like to eat, looks like they have food for an army!
