Cheapest way to get to Krabi?

Featured Replies

Hey,

I am going to Phuket soon, and I would like to see Krabi when I am there.

What is the cheapest way to get there from Patong?

I know you can do the ferry to phi phi and then krabi, but looking something cheaper.

and if i did end up doing the ferry, how much is it from Phuket to Phi Phi? And then on to Krabi? Thanks, my friends!

Get a motorcycle taxi to the bus station Phuket Town. It's across the street from the Royal Phuket City Hotel and I think the Krabi buses go hourly,100thb or so.

I thought all the inter-city buses now left from the new bus station out on the road to the airport.

Songthaew/Bus from Patong then Bus to Krabi from "new bus station" on the road out from Phuket town. There is many options as many buses pass Krabi on the way south.

Ferry to Ao Nong would be about 350 baht to Phi Phi and another 350 baht to Ao Nong.

20 baht baht bus from Ao Nong to Krabi town.

But this is only if you buy a ticket from a dealer.
If you go to the ferry, the woman there will charge you whatever she feels like.
So buy one from an agent near your hotel and they will even pick you up for another 100 baht or so.

Boats leave around 8:30 AM. (from Phuket town's Rassada pier)

How long by boat?

Ferry you don't mean car ferry?

I want to visit krabi but it's a long drive on very dangerous roads

Not really, they've almost got it where it is two lanes each way most of the way. The head on stuff is really limited now. Once off the island 1.5 hours to Ao Nong, I don't consider that too long of a drive.
