Does anyone sell Bees wax in Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

Just about every Buddhist religious shop sells bee's wax. Look for the shops with the large yellow candles in front.

Often they will sell it in two different grades; clean, pure wax looking very yellowish tan in block form, and a darker dirtier round pie-tin slab.

I buy the stuff from World Chemical on the Mahidol in 1kg blocks; ironically its not one of their chemical products, its the real Bones Mc Coy

What! No one went for the reply that was just begging to be posted

Also the big Chinese medicine shop in Warorot market.

Just curious, what would one do with a kilo of bee's wax?

When melted together with Carnuba wax and mineral oil, it makes a long-lasting anti-oxidizing coating for sword blades.

Isn't that what everyone uses it for? whistling.gif

That's none of your bee's wax ;)

Was also curious about that. Probably the most obvious for that quantity is candle making but here are a few other uses - 101 Uses for beeswax

I make and sell moustache wax and beard balm, and beeswax is a major ingredient. Thanks for the info. The last time I was in CM I bought what I thought was 100% beeswax ( and was told was 100% beeswax by the vendor) but it wasn't. Will definitely check out the places listed on this thread next time.
