PHUKET: -- One man was injured and two vehicles damaged when high winds caused an old tree to fall on Takhua Pa-Thai Muang Rd near the Khao Lak police checkpoint in Phang Nga on Tuesday evening (Feb 9).

The Khao Lak Rescue Centre received a call from a local resident at 5pm stating that strong winds had brought down a huge tree down on the busy road in front of the Phor Ta Khao Lak Shrine and police checkpoint in Takua Pa.

The tree had caused damage to a minivan and motorbike and had injured one motorist it was reported.

Rescue workers arrived on scene to find debris from the 50 metre tall tree strewn all over the road and a damaged Buthsa Travel Co minivan parked at the roadside.

This really is a case where the tree jumped out and hit the car. facepalm.giffacepalm.giffacepalm.gif

Bringing out the "Burmese" card every time there is an incident of any description is getting very old and certainly very tiring and boring.

Please, give it a rest.

Thank you.

A post with an oversized graphic has been removed. It messes up the formatting of the page.

Why did a resident have to call?

It is literally out the front of a police station and there is a policeman in the actual video when it happened, surely the police could have been responsible for calling rescue?

I wonder what they did afterwards: "Hey look, a big tree falling on the road and hitting a van. Oh look, time to eat".

That tree looks like it has been dead nor some time and should have been taken down. I

hope the injured man makes a quick and full recovery. thumbsup.gif

...lucky it fell just in front of the van....it looked massive...

Now that really was...Bad Karma!
