Pattaya: Foreign Motorcyclist Dies in Crash into Village Entrance Gate
Picture from responders. A foreign motorcyclist, nationality not disclosed, lost his life in a crash early morning on November 29, after losing control of his bike and crashing into a village entrance gate in Soi Khao Talo, Moo 13, Nongprue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri. The incident occurred at 05:35 and was reported to Pol. Lt. Supakit Kasudom, Deputy Inspector of Nongprue Police Station. Rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Foundation were dispatched to the scene. At the site of the crash, a yellow-and-black Yamaha Aerox motorcycle with license plate from Chon Buri was found severely damaged after veering off a curve and crashing into the base of a village entrance gate. Lying near the base of the gate was the lifeless body of a foreign man, whose name and nationality remain unidentified. Rescue workers covered the body with a white cloth and cordoned off the area to prevent public interference. Mr. Teerakhan Thongkham, 33, a security guard at the village, stated that while he did not witness the crash, he heard the sound of the motorcycle losing control and crashing. The rider was thrown from the vehicle, striking the gate structure. He immediately contacted authorities for assistance. Pol. Lt. Supakit recorded evidence at the scene and announced plans to review CCTV footage to determine the cause of the crash. An initial inspection revealed only a rental document with the name “Mr. Damme,” but could not yet confirm the deceased’s identity. The body has been transported to Bang Lamung Hospital, where it will be held pending identification by relatives. Authorities are urging the victim’s family to come forward with documents to claim the body. -- 2024-11-29 -

Leaving a motorbike (scooter) parked without riding it for how long before problems arise?
Never. Carbs are more susceptible than FI. Ester based fuel stabilizers are better prophylaxis. ... see Project Farm, YT. [3,360,000 subscribers] papa learns from others' experiences. Up to you. 😉 -

Australia Urged to Rethink ICC Membership Amid Controversial Arrest Warrants
75 countries, including Palestine, the Vatican, India, Indonesia, Russia, the USA and Israel, did not agree to join the ICC when it was formed in 2002. That being so one wonders why it is that the ICC claims the right to prosecute non-members and/or the citizens of non-members. Sounds to me like a pointless and purposeless coterie seeking cheap publicity. -

AOT confirms facial recognition for international flights
Great in theory but…. If they delete the biometric data after 48 hours, doesn’t that mean we’ll need to re-register every time we fly? If so, this will make check in queues slower, simply transferring the problem to a different part of the process? Also if the law requires deletion of data, does that also apply to the requirement to be photographed every time we arrive or leave? In which case it’s a useless requirement -

British Man Arrested for Overstay and Insulting Phuket Officials
I imagine perhaps he didn't have the 20.000 to pay them plus his detention means missing flight so further expenses he probably doesn't have. In saying that if he can stay over 6 months he either thought they will just deport him but I've no sympathy
