PHUKET: -- The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Kingdom of Thailand made a visit to the island yesterday (Feb 16) to discuss diplomatic relations between Turkey and Phuket. However, the meeting didn’t go without the Ambassador making some complaints.

When meeting Vice Governor Prajiad Aksornthamkul, Ambassador Osman Bulent Tulun said, “Phuket is a beautiful province and Turkish people are very much interested in visiting the island. Phuket welcomes about 20,000 Turkish tourists per year, and we have two flights per days leaving from Turkey for Bangkok.

“However, there have been some complaints sent to my office by people who have travelled here that I would like to share. And I would like Phuket officials to take these complaints on board and find to solutions to resolve them,” he said.

“Many Turkish tourists have complained about the airport being overcrowded. They also pointed out about communication problems with officials.

Well, while dealing with Phuket authorities there wont be alot of talking turkey.

Ah yes, the overcrowded airport that will soon be fully opening a new terminal is the most pressing issue to discuss. This ambassador surely is on top of things! If that's solved, it will be paradise.

I bet we got the sanitized version atleast on the complaints side of things he is probably their for a month to air his people grievences

should've given him the traditional thai welcome and laced his drinking water with sleeping pills

It's a pity more Ambassadors don't take a leaf out of his book, and take time out to air the grievances of the people they are supposed to represent. "Another G & T, old chap?"

I hope they served him cold turkey and gave him a map of where ISIS have camps inside his country as a fare well present. Coming from Turkey and complaining about overcrowding and communication skills of officials aren't only rich it deserves ridicule.

Talk about communication problems -

"More than 95 percent of Turkish students can’t respond to questions spoken in English, even after almost 1,000 hours in the classroom to learn the language. Those numbers were the highlight of a report released in March by TEPAV (Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey) and the British Council. The figures made domestic headlines, but haven’t surprised Turks." Turkey's Language Problem, by Amy Guttman 2/8/2014

Looks like the Turks and Thais actually have a common language - misnomerish

Turkeys...,20,000 in a whole year....in the whole of Thsilanf....and its not even X mas yet.

Please read again.

Yes the show piece airport will soon be finished but the beaches will still be empty of trash barrels. When it comes to tourism problems Thailand learns the language fast regardless of the costs involve.

Oh yeah?? what about the over crowded airport at Istanbul? and not to mention the communication problem throughout turkey??

AAaawwww,Air port overcrowded? Sorry about that,we will build a new one just for you.

Communication problems? Well,Ive never actually met a lot of Thai immigration officers that speak Turkish! Maybe it might be nice for your people to learn a few words in Thai before coming here.

Tell him that Turks speak Thai fairly well especially the Uighers they have many passports available , that only taking 8 minutes is good for those with fake passports to be able to come and go without detection.

Tell him it is wonderfull how Turkey has these Uighers that blow up things and can remain non terrorists, and it is wonderfull that Turkey trains IS and buys oil and lets IS wonder across to Syria.

And how wonderfull it has been in returning the BK bomb suspects back to the LOS even after they had spoken with them.cheesy.gif
