Due to fly out to Los in a few weeks and I remember the new advanced passenger information system(APIS) been in the news regarding implementation in Bangkok Airport.

Strangely when booking my flight the airline which I have used many occasion does not require me to fill in any advanced passenger information .

I thought it was a requirement for entering Thailand now? Or am I wrong ?

Thanks

You may find that the information is captured when you check-in, either online or at the desk.

Plenty of time for you to get flagged before you board. A couple of recent instances in the UK with passengers being stopped at the gate when travelling to the US.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

What they are doing is using the info on the passenger list that they are sent by the airline. That will have your name and passport number on at the least.

What they are doing is not the same as some countries require prior to entry (for example the US).

So when you check in don't they check for arrest warrants etc in your home country ?

Airlines do not have the ability to do that. But some countries do have a do not fly list. If your home country has departure immigration procedures that is when it could be checked.
