WARNING! A dangerous robber (aggressor) attacks lonely women on Koh Samui

ksm1.jpg

Reports on local Facebook sights are warning of a dangerous robber operating in Koh Samui.

This post is made by Russian community on Samui.

Last week, we have seen at least 3 incidents with a local(?) aggressor attacking women. All the cases happened on the shortcut road from Maenam to Lamai (through jungles, Soi 1 in Maenam). All of them were done in a daytime: two times — about 12-2 PM, one time — about 5-6 PM.

Two times the story was the same: he waited for a victim on a secondary road, then drove behind and watched, then drove to a victim, cut her off and started to blackmail (asking for money).

* First time (25th of February) he stopped a girl, threatened her and asked for money but luckily she cheated him and went forward on the bike. He was following her for 5 minutes on a high speed, then drove to her and tried to ram her. She stopped and started to talk, then distracted his attention and tried to go away for the second time. Happily, a car appeared, she stopped it and explained everything. Aggressor spoke with a Thai driver of this car and convinced him that nothing happened. A girl left while they were speaking.

* The same day (25th of February), the same aggressor attacked other Russian girl who was jogging on Maenam Soi 1. He throttled her, tried to bring her in the bushes. She tried to resist and cried. Happily, some motorbike was passing by and aggressor let the girl to go away.

* The third case happened on 29th of February, near Lamai area (in the mountains). He followed a girl on the bike, cut her off, showed her a knife and started to blackmail.

All the girls visited police station and made applications. However, policemen don’t seem to pay enought attention to the cases.

All lonely women running/driving on the Maenam-Lamai shortcut can BECOME A VICTIM of this aggressor!

DISTINCTIVE MARKS of this aggressor. He is skinny and tall. Speaks Thai and a little of English. Dark hair, haircut similar to Lenny Kravitz. Big popped eyes. He uses a very old motorbike of dark color. Two times he was in an orange polo.

PLEASE, HELP US TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION! We want to:
* let all the women know about these cases and the place — to be very CAUTIOUS in this area;
* find other victims of this guy;
* join our forces to engage policemen (two applications are already done and accepted) and deal with it.

One might think the police might show a bit of interest.

Oh no, that would be in another country, or perhaps even a normal part of Thailand.

I am sure if it goes viral the top police guy on Samui will get a call from BKK telling him to get a quick arrest and "this is not the work of a Thai"

I hope they catch this A-hole before he kills someone. Let's hope the BIB can do their job, maybe need to have a reward offered first.

Any who writes this crap? Can't they find a better journalist than this?

The writing here is almost as much of a crime as the story itself.

From a fb sight [sic].... That really takes the cake for unsubstantiated hearsay with a large dose of really bad translating. (I hope)

He followed a girl on the bike, cut her off, showed her a knife and started to blackmail.....

Is it a parody?

From a fb sight [sic] and doesn't even mention the name or link to it?

With journalism like this, no wonder the Samui rumour mill grinds on unabated.

From a fb sight [sic] Sasquatch sited on Lamai beach

....it says the police showed no interest......wow......

...is that natural evolution then ......from sneaking up the skirts of the victims...to this.....

...sorry and okay...???

....in one instance he choked and dragged.....in another instance he was brandishing a knife.....

....and please correct the translation.....not 'lonely women'....'women that are alone'....

...as for credibility of foreigners...perfect example....the psycho nearly had his way with her.....but he convinced the passing driver otherwise....

Incredibly bad reporting ! She "cheated" him by trying to avoid robbery ? "Blackmail" ? This can only be the case when the bad guy has the dirty on the good guy, and demands money to keep quiet ! As previously stated, this guy is bad news and must be caught before he kills someone, but to have that happen someone has to pay the police :(

This warning was writtenby a Russian who is not fluent in English.a good thing that they have warned women about this potential murderer/ thief/ rapist. The police have obviously done nothing so far.

Proper English or not, the person (possibly Thai) that wrote and published this article is a bit of a hero.

Please don't bash those Thais that understand what we outsiders want to change here in Thailand.

If you understand what he was saying, than great, good enough.

His English is much better than most of our Thai.

I wonder how the reporter knows the women were "lonely" . Is everybody who goes out alone a "lonely" person?

Not a native English speaker so probably meant women alone.

everybody please shut up blink.png about the Russian to English translation. bah.gif The point is to warn women about what is going on.

Lets hope the Samui Times is brave enough to continue with warnings like this because it is bad for local business, their advertisers and cast the cops in a bad light which is not healthy on that island.

Anyway, I volunteer to escort the Russian women through this dangerous part of Thailand. smile.png

A twentysomething blonde on a chicken chaser travelling alone heading towards Lamai passed us travelling in the other direction on top of the mountain at 1400hrs on Monday. I commented at the time that she had placed herself in a potentially dangerous position and furthermore had no visible water in event of mechanical failure....

Something like that yes,...but I think he will be caught shortly he made a few mistakes already....

and by the way if they say the police seems not to be interested be assured of the contrary....western perceptions of the Asian mind are misleading....

Regards.

No one should mention anything about the quality of the English until they can write Russian equally as well.
