DVD Stores In BKK

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Need a bit of help. Is there a decent DVD store in BKK where I can buy box sets of TV series, mainly US series (CSI, Breaking Bad, NCIS etc.).

Need them with Thai language as the missus loves them. Don't mind if they're originals or copies.

Cheers,

Any streetside stall on sukhumvit or silom will have them all. Or MBK Level 5 which has an entire floor dedicated to this stuff.....you can enter thru the tokyu department store.

There used to be a small shop in mbk called Lookmaew that took your order and delivered the dvds to your hotel in 24 hrs but they might have closed shop since everyone started using torrents to download and kodi.

Don't buy copied crap, why support criminals?

That's great, cheers. I'll be in BKK next week so I'll give MBK a shot.

I don't know if they still d, but I had a Mangpong member card so I could rent out DVDs. Genuine boxed sets get a bit expensive if you only watch them once or twice.

Why would anyone be stupid enough to buy a pirated DVD? If you are going to break the law and flagrantly violate copyright and intellectual property rights, should probably just download it and cut out the middle man.

If you dont have a computer and/or a descent internet connection I dont see why you wouldnt. Stupid would be paying full price for original.

And why would anyone be stupid enough to download and risk getting hit with legal action?

Stream instead….

there's something for all risk appetites in the piracy game.

Well, no, it's not stupid to pay full price for the original. It means that people who did the work on the show get paid. It means the company that paid for the international rights gets paid. It means that things keep getting made. I know the fashion is for people just to download everything or buy pirated copies, but not doing that is hardly 'stupid'. Or did you think they were making it for free and they owed you entertainment, so you don't have to pay for it?

Why not extend that to the rest of your life. Don't pay the full amount of your electricity bill, that's stupid- just get a cable and patch it into your neighbours. Don't pay for gas or petrol when you can siphon off other people. When shopping for groceries, make sure you chuck a couple of freebies into your bag when nobody is looking. It would be stupid to pay full price for a product.

Or, y'know, you could just support the fact that people buying DVDs and the like from retailers is part of what keeps these shows being made.

To the OP: pretty much every mall has a DVD shop. Paragon, Central, CentralWorld etc etc- http://www.boomerangshop.com/web/default.php

I didnt know Lars Ulrich was on Thaivisa...

When did this become a moral argument about pirated DVD's..?? I was asking about DVD shops in BKK!

Keyboard warriors with too much time on their hands (and of course have never broken any laws!).

Get a grip!
