Phnom Penh to HCMC via Mekong

Featured Replies

Well, I have 1 week left in Thailand, been here for 3 months and again I have not done much travelling, even though I tell myself that I will!

Once back home I will be booking for my next trip and in the process, will also book my excursion from Thailand. I would like to fly to Phnom Penh, stay there a couple of weeks then sail down the Mekong to HCMC for a few days, then take 10 days or so on Phu Quoc island

I would like to know if there is anyone that could provide me with some tips, some do's, some songs, some must sees and possibly some knowledge about flying back to Thailand from Phu Quoc (although I can search the web for this)

Thanks for any info/tips

Wifey and I traveled down the Mekong on Pandaw boat, ended in Saigon. That was about 8 years ago, real 1st class boat and good experience overall. Must say that the trip south from PP was not much of interest, some stops to see local things and some temples, most interesting was a farm/shop making the nuoc mam sauce (same as Thai nam pla) which consists mostly of huge pottery jars of rotten fish, making a very fragrant experience. So overall six days of very relaxing. excellent food aboard and fairly boring overall.

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't aware it took so long but thinking about it, I can see it would. I may need to reconsider my itinerary. I do like peace and relaxation, but I am sure I would be frustrated with very little to do for 6 days
