I don't want the usual cheap/fake market garbage,

something strong that will last awhile from an reputable manufacturer would be great

I don't mind ordering online if anyone can recommend somewhere going

Thx for reading....

That swiss gear looks very much identical to the Pierre Cardin ( and several other copies of the same) I bought via lazada. Handle broke on the return of first trip (6 flights)

I replaced it with an American tourist hard shell (made by Samsonite as I understand it) Lock an roll paid 129 euro, not yet available in Thailand. Will travel 12 flights this year.

I have a soft Samsonite which survived very well 40 flights so far, paid 250 euros.

You can get Rimowa from Paragon, Gaysorn, Zen and Central Chidlom. A lot of airports duty free too (as you travel a lot).

There is also an authorised repair shop in Bangkok.

One word: Samsonite. Mine is 23 years old and I have no doubt if I had been on MH370 it would have washed up entirely intact on a Mozambique beach by now. Bad I know but that's how good they are.

Siam Paragon, CentralWorld etcetc have huge ranges of suitcases.

Samsonite, Tumi have their own shops, go and compare.

There are some very big discounts on Samsonite at present

I agree Samsonite are good, but when they break, like mine has twice (aluminum handle in same spot twice 20,000+ bag), it's a 4-6 month wait for repair.

...and you need to buy another bag in the meantime.

I do 120 flights a year+...

When I buy again, I'll be buying something as bulletproof as I can get. Nothing worse than an aluminum handle breaking weeks from home.

...or buy cheap and when it breaks, bin it, and buy another.

i think swiss gear brand is good for the price

http://www.lazada.co.th/swiss-gear-28-kw109-1404827.html

delsey seems pretty good too

http://www.lazada.co.th/delsey-4-28-76-cm-aircraft-black-4763316.html

if you dont care about the price id get samsonite but they will cost at least triple

the other brands but they will prob last for a life of holidays

I have a big delsey and it´s crap, everything breaks off but i still can use it as long as the zipper holds.

Also i have a big swiss gear weekendbag and it´s good but after 3 days some of those holecoverrings fell out so now it has holes.

I wouldn´t spend much on it because it will look terrible after some flights anyway.

Renowa is a good brand but not cheap.

I would assume they are fake unless you got them from an official distributor... I was in fortune today and saw a lot of Pierre Cardin, Swiss gear etc and the badges looked very fake ... Only around 2200-2500 but useless if it falls apart in a couple of days like the above report....

Safer to pay more and get a real one that's built to last, imagine the handle or the wheels breaks off your 30kg suitcase on the other side of the world late and you got to carry it to the airport check in... No thx :(

I bought both in departmentstores in Europe, they won´t be fakes. In my country you go to jail for selling fakes.

But i agree there´s a lot of Swiss Gear in Thailand which is all fake. I know malls full of them.

Victorinox on the other hand is real, in Paragon that is.

I just bought a Tumi in Tokyo, much cheaper then elsewhere and they also give you taxrefund for tourists immediatly in cash. Perfect service. For quality brands and imported items Tokyo is much cheaper then BKK and you get a perfect service as well in English.
