Hunt on for Thai parents who left abused 4 year old home alone for three days

BANGKOK:-- The hunt is on for two callous parents who left their four year old alone to fend for herself for three days in a locked house.

Neighbours heard cries coming from the property in Rangsit, Bangkok, and rescued the little girl before calling police.

The hungry and frightened child was found to be covered in cuts and bruises and told investigators they were inflicted by her mother.

Khlong Luang police under the leadership of Chumporn Songngam and officials from a child welfare foundation rushed to the two storey townhouse in an estate on Khlong 3 on Tuesday after concerned neighbours entered the house after hearing cries for help.

Neighbour Chawalit Chatchai-anan , 44, said: "I had never seen the parents. They kept themselves to themselves and always entered and left the property quietly.

"We heard cries in the morning of a child saying she was hungry but thought nothing of it. We became suspicious in the evening when it was all quiet and a friend of mine climbed over the wall and found the kid sleeping completely alone.

"We took her for something to eat and when we were giving her a wash we saw the injuries to her little body and immediately called police. It was shocking."

Officials talked to the girl called "Bee" to protect her identity. She said that her mother had beaten her and left her alone for three days. Officials found many wounds indicating child abuse and also severe bruising around Bee's left eye.

Bee was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries and is now in the care of authorities. The hunt is on for her parents.

Diminished responsibilities , will be a claim in the future from parents,

so better to keep the little girl away from such uncaring people,

save her life now,

You know some times the old ways of dealing with these type of people

would be great, especially here,

so bring back the stock and locate it at the entrance to the local market.

This callous action by the parents has made me as angry as all members here, but I had to ask.............

".......so bring back the stock and locate it at the entrance to the local market."

Would that be the stock market?

It happens far too often unfortunately... I hope she ends up in a loving home and away from the nightmares.

All I can say about the so-called parents is that I hope they are caught and severely dealt with. No kid deserves that.

Sometimes - I think - labor camps will be helpful to teach "responsibility" and "educate" guilty parties of crimes committed by them. The well known "Arbeit macht frei" - "work sets you free" could bring results. Abuse for abuse. Time for time. An eye for an eye. Death for death. Who disagree? Who does agree? Could program like that be a deterrent?

Unfortunately this happens all over the world, but maybe more frequently in poorer countries. Most Thais do love their children , even if it looks a bit weird when they choose to believe in karma instead of safety for their kids.

...hopefully someone will intervene....

...an apology or lame excuse should not suffice.....

...this innocent child deserves a chance to learn that this is not the right way to treat children.....

...please do not leave her in their clutches for a life of abuse........

Watching all that made me weep.It broke my heart to think of that poor little girl alone for 4 days. What could have been going on in her little mind?

My wife's sister lives next door to us,she takes care of her granddaughter while her mother works down south. The tot is a beautiful little girl of four.I cannot imagine what i would do if the sister ever did the same thing.

sweet girl,i hope that one day you will forget all this.

My goodness....That child needs help, love, and a lot of care, to get over this drama....What should and can we do?

"..What should and can we do?"

As an expat you should rightly feel disgusted and angry at this story and the people who abused this child.

What can you do, ? Very little. It is a Thai situation and as can be seen in the video there are many caring and concerned Thais who will ensure this child is safely cared for. Thais are very family oriented, with the obvious rare exception as seen here.

The parents (used loosely) are lucky they did not show up at their house when this was taking place. Thais can be a perfect lynch mob and in this case may well have been justified.

Thailand needs a penal colony where they can send their misfits to duke it out between themselves. The parents should be on the first boat.

How's about...AUSTRALIA!?

AUSTRALIA won't take them if they go by boat.

I have 4 boys, and we (my wife and I) try hard to get our dream girl, and those swines have a beautiful daughter and all they do is abuse and abandon her - it makes me sick to my stomach... sad.png I wish I could have an hour with those parents in a secluded garage - I fear they wouldn't make it out alive...

Wife just told me the child is back with her mother and stepfather. I guess it must be ok with the authorities, as disgusting as the thought may be.

Please tell me this isn't true, please! :(

Felling the urge to ride to Pathumthani and erasing those pigs who call themselves "parents" from the face of the earth...

How the heck can authorities give the girl back to thos monsters, has the whole world gotten insane? What's wrong with people?????
