Birth control pills(especially Cerazette) for endometriosis

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have diagnosed endometriosis which is also called chocolate cyst. I'm planning to remove it by next month in my home country. And will be under hormone therapy with the pill called Visanne for 6 months which will be given to me from my home country as well after the surgery. Anyway, after that, I will probably need to change it to birth control pills since it's more easy to get it here. (I've asked how much Visanne would be from Bumrungrad, and they said it will be around 3500 THB per box.. which is way too expensive). And my doctor said after 6 months I can change my hormone therapy to birth control pill.

I'm thinking to take progestin 100% pill, the brand is Cerazette.

1. Can I get this pill from any pharmacy in Bangkok without prescription?

2. Please share your experiences with endo and birth control pills

3. If possible, please recommend the hospital with doctor's name who is specialised for endo in Bangkok.

Thanks,

Have a great day! smile.png

Yes, you can get Cerazette over the counter without prescription in Thailand. It is imported, so not cheap, and you may have to look around a bot to find it, but it can be gotten.

For doctors, suggest

Hi and thanks a lot Sheryl! I saw his profile and found that his specialty is chocolate cyst :) As I need follow up check after my surgery quite often, I will visit him.

One quick question, do you or someone you know, have any experience with this doctor or are you recommending me him because he's specialised in endo?

Thanks a lot :)

Recommended based on qualifications and appropriate clinical focus, and also favorable feedback from other TV members. I haven't met him myself.
