Use of electricity to surge in April and May, says EGAT

BANGKOK, 21 March 2016 (NNT) – The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) says the use of electricity will surge exponentially in April and May, while urging all sectors to be aware of possible blackouts.

EGAT said temperatures in the months of April and May could rise as high as 38 degrees Celsius, while the use of household electricity could jump to 28,000 megawatts during the period, meaning a 4.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

EGAT then urged businesses and households in many parts of the country to cut electricity use, in order to avoid blackouts to the service.

To avert an electricity crisis, EGAT has instructed the North Bangkok Power Plant and the Hongsa Power Plant to be well-prepared and to increase their electricity generation capacity during these months.

Being as a big part of the electricity is water fed generators, what happens if the dams get to low to run them.wai2.gif

Easy, the Enlightened One will visit these dams -- take some selfies and Bingo the water levels will rise. thumbsup.gif

Is that before or after walking over and back across the water.
