BANGKOK: -- A 17-year-old teenager was charged today with making a threat after a video of him pulling a BB gun on another motorist on Vibhavadi Road went viral.

In the YouTube video, the victim, Tirayu Luang-on, 34, described how he was driving a pickup truck along Vibhavadi Road on Saturday afternoon. As he was about to enter an inner lane, a motorcycle came out of the driver’s blind spot and cut in front of him, causing him to miss his entrance.

The arrogance of youth is alive and well in Thailand and needs to be curbed but by reacting by trying to wipe them out makes the retaliator no better than them and surely we are are old enough to know better.

'Old enough to know better', however, doesn't seem to apply where (most of) Thai Visa Posters are concerned. This Forum is, for the most part, an endless string of immature comments, racist slants, Thai bashing, pompous profanities, worn-out clichés, self praising or boasting about one's alleged wealth, and 'replies' to other posters usually start with belligerent, unpleasant remarks which are disturbingly reminiscent of college talk.

And we know for a fact that most of these posters are retired Westerners, so yes, they're 'old enough' but no, these 'gentlemen' don't seem to 'know better'.

I would realize that if I run over these two and injure or kill them I'm the one who is in very very deep trouble. Farangs, remember where you're at! This is Thailand and if you injure or kill a couple Thais your going to pay deeply for your moment of stupidity.

I do respect the kid's father for reporting into the police within a reasonable timeframe. To often, parents try to shield their precious little ones from responsibility.

Saw it once before, in Perth... The guy was brandishing a toy gun, and someone used their mobile to alert the cops.

In addition to brandishing a handgun, at 1.40, there's a no entry sign for motorcycles on the flyover which they ignore.

Probably sparked by them cutting each other up prior to the video while changing lanes.
