tomacht8
Hopefully the Thai justice will finally find a way to pull out these murderers. There are actually people which are not suitable to drive a car.Driving drunk, full of drugs, playing with there phones at the wheel, speeding with 250 km/h in heavy traffic, etc.The sad thing is, that these brainless drivers killing innocent people und bystanders.Too bad that this slime bag is not crashed with 250 km/h into a bridge pylon. Then one would not need to look at this spectacle, how this murder on wheels, steals himself out from responsibility, with his money, connections and lawyers. The penalty is in the thai law Code clear.Section 290. Manslaughter Whoever, causes death to the other person by inflicting injury upon the body of such person without intent to cause death, shall be punished with imprisonment of three to fifteen years. Here we have a double manslaughter.6-30 years in prison would be appropriate.I'm not too optimistic that the death driver will spend even one day in prison, that have unfortunately shown in the past, in similar cases from wealthy offenders. EyesWideOpen
Gee, I wonder how this case will turn out. Oh wait, already have the precedent of the red bull killer, and the teen twit killer. They both seemingly have gotten off scot free. So generally the past is a great predictor of the future, so pretty sure the Benz killer will get off too. Speaking of Benz killers, wasn't there another one who ran his Benz into a bus stop full of people and killed a few ? Pretty sure he is not in jail either. ........Guess at some point poor Thai people will get tired of being run over, and take justice into their own hands. As clearly the Thai justice system is complete joke.

newnative
Unfortunately, blowing through the toll booth gate without stopping will probably be what will put him in deep kimchi, not killing the 2 students. connda
So, why didn't the media go after the kid that killed 9 people while texting the way that they are going after Jenphop? I don't see anything different between "two young, bright students" and 9 other lives who did not get the same social media attention. Are some HiSo more connected and protected than others? DavisH
The problem persists because ordinary Thais accept it s normal. And if at all possible, they would also to climb the status tree and be free from and kind of repercussions of their own wrongdoings. That's also why you don't see politicians ever jailed. Because what goes around comes around. Hopefully this jerk will be banned from driving for a very long time. And WHEN driving he is caught he'll go straight to jail. likewise
the sad thing here is, the majority with wealth HAVE to show off with it and paying their way out of "situations" is one of those ways to show those around them how rich they are and how well connected. Take it from me that some of them actually brag about it to their rich peers....... TIT. Sad really, but harsh reality.

For every idiot speeding around in an expensive car there are 100 idiots speeding around in cheap pickup trucks, with the same lack of regard to other road users. While driving out on the same section of road yesterday, I saw the usual morons changing and cutting into lanes at high speed, trying to get one extra car length ahead of the traffic. The vast majority were in nondescript, if not decrepit, cars and trucks of all makes and prices. For them, it's a bigger gamble than for the hi-so-and-sos, as there's more to lose, but even so, it's still possible to hit someone lower in the food chain and get away with a slap on the wrist no matter what you drive. I do the same on a motobike (at much lower speed though) but i do it because it's ridiculous how many drivers use the fast lane while driving very slow. Slow traffic should keep left but they feel far too important to drive there. Many times there's severe congestion and when i slalom to the front it's caused by one or two drivers only who are just being very selfish. If slow drivers just kept left they wouldn't have to slalom their cars around them.

If slow drivers just kept left they wouldn't have to slalom their cars around them. There's a difference between undertaking a slow car in the fast lane - and yes, they too should be among the first group against the wall come the revolution, don't get me started on that; and ducking and weaving across 3 or 4 lanes of traffic in order to get ahead of the next guy, as the maggot in the Mercedes was doing. I'm talking about those who come up behind you, in any lane, when there is heavy traffic all around, and cut into the adjacent lane, often braking hard to avoid hitting the car in front, then cut across into another one, and back again, and forth again, and end up in the same lane two cars behind you, effectively travelling 150 km in the 100 km stretch from Bangkok to Saraburi. Or they take a gamble, put their foot down, and go for a small gap. Or no gap at all. Most of them seem to have a bigger gap between their ears than the one they want to drive their car through. For these people, no matter how fast the right hand lane is moving, it still isn't fast enough for them. If the police actually did their job at all, they'd round up these wannabe pinballs, and the slow Joes in the fast lane, put them together on a closed racing circuit, and let them go round and round in frustration. Then make 'em clean up the ensuing wreckage by hand and walk home afterwards.

He also scares the hell out of the security personel manning the gate at the village where he lives, if the gate not up quick enough he just drives through it.And what does his sexual orientation have to do with anything on this case? silent
What a terribly sad waste of two promising young lives. Again, it's great that the ongoing pressure from social media users have led to the dismissal of the original investigation team, and the new DUI charges. Let's hope that pressure continues and this entitled scum gets to see some real justice. Indeed lets hope so, I wish there were some more investigative journalists. I hear there are a lot in the UK/USA (can't say that there are too many in the Netherlands but I could be wrong). Point is here it often all blows away and no updates on cases like this are given. Rich people bribing prison officials not to go to jail ect. I hope they do confiscate this guys passport, that he wont do a red bull. Looks to me that it's already on it's way to being put down to impairment due to anti-depressants and no alcohol which means the poor lad will only suffer more depression if convicted. razer
E-Z out. There is no way to prove Jenphop Weeraporn was DUI unless they took a blood sample at the hospital. If there had been a blood sample I am sure the police would have released that information. Jenphop Weeraporn will have the case dropped against him in a year or so for lack of evidence. Thai justice is like a soap opera. The ending is so predictable. A manslaughter charge which the police opted out of, would stick. Oh ... my wife (Thai) predicted they would say he was on medication therefore a very light penalty.

If everyone black bans his company and doesnt buy cars from him. Rich with no income hurts more than a fine. Impossible. He and his father sales cars to the Hi-so not to the working-class and even not to ALL of the middleclass, some of them, yes. The ones he sales his Mercs and BMWs to are the same as he is.
