Tout who attacked Russian tourist sorry for spoiling Pattaya's image
Thaivisa Reporters

PATTAYA:-- The Walking Street tout responsible for attacking a Russian tourist outside McDonald's on Wednesday turned himself in to Pattaya police saying he was sorry for spoiling the good name of the resort, reports Thaivisa News.

Mr Elgor Gorokov,46, was left with a serious eye injury after an argument broke out when the tout offered sex drugs and a trip to see a sex show.

Wilas (alias Ae) Thongchaem 37, said that he attacked the tourist, who he claimed was drunk, after he spat at him. He said he alone was responsible and hit the tourist once over the eye.

Wilas turned up at Pattaya police station Thursday with a friend called Asawin who was a witness to the violent melee. He said it was true that he had offered the tourist sex drugs and invited him to see a sex show, but a misunderstanding occurred and an argument developed before the Russian spat at him.

"I lost it because I was so angry," he told investigating officers. "I want to apologise for what I did and spoiling the good name of Pattaya." He added that he decided quickly to admit to what he had done and go to police to sort it out.

Police said that Mr Gorokov had continued on his way to Koh Si Chang. Wilas was charged with assault.

<deleted> like this, and the nonchalant attitude by the RTP are going to bring the "quality tourists" flocking in.

Not bad at all.

Selling "sex-show" tickets

Selling "drugs"

Attacking an intoxicated tourist.

And claiming a "misunderstanding".

What was the "misunderstanding" ?

These "touts" are illegally operating on Walking Street, and right under the noses of the Police.

And mentioned "spoiling the good name of Pattaya".

Funny !!!

As usual no apology or regret for assaulting a tourist just suitable apology for spoiling Pattaya's ' good name ' ! cheesy.gif

Just following the example set from on high when no one in authority all the way to the top expressed any regret about the victims on Koh Tau just worry that tourism might be harmed.

And claiming a "misunderstanding".

What was the "misunderstanding" ?

He misunderstood that spitting at a person is a normal gesture in Russia?

Sorry for "Spoiling Pattaya's image" ?!

But not sorry for hurting another person and being a scum bag ...

Well, not that they apologised and said "sorry", everything is ok ... mai pen rai, mai me pen-ha ....

Business as usual .... next !!!

luudee

Since when did Pattaya have a good image to spoil ?

About 1959 according to one poster on the pattaya forum.

Way before my time, i like it the way it is, but we don't need the violence and the plastic cops.

What is wrong with that picture? Well, nothing really. They're just a bunch of good guys lounging around on the sofa having a cup of coffee and a chin-wag about the good old days. It's nice to see the police treating members of the public like they are welcome guests and ... and it's an honor to have you visit us. Please take your time with the coffee, and call us when you want an escort to go back to work. You have a super, super day, old friends.

"he was sorry for spoiling the good name of the resort" how many times was he sorry ? how many frang did he hit prior to this?

You really have to stretch your imagination to come up with something that would tarnish Pattaya's reputation.

Probably the bridge club came the closest.

Sorry for "Spoiling Pattaya's image...."

that train has left the station long, long time ago, not much can be done by anyone to sully Pattaya name and

image anymore than what it is today, a den of inequity....

The image Pattaya wants the world to see is one where the people who offer you drugs and sex shows are completely safe and would not harm a flea. Why you could bring your children and have a family outing.

Monkeys like this, and the nonchalant attitude by the RTP are going to bring the "quality tourists" flocking in.

What? You mean the drunk Russian monkey who spat at a Thai, don't you?

What do you mean by "nonchalant attitude" of the police? You do mean the attitude that resulted in the tout being charged with assault?

So attempting to sell drugs has no charge

Let's see what's wrong with your view of the pictures...

No "good guys lounging around", just 2 apparently remorseful Thais respectfully offering wais in the company of the arresting officers presumably.

No cups of coffee.

No chin-wag happening.

So, start to finish, absolute nonsense.

The drugs were what was described as "sex drugs", 100% chance of them being of the Viagra type, hardly the class 1 drugs that you were trying to make them sound like.

Your lack of imagination is sad. You need to come up for air occasionally from your dungeon of self-righteousness.

And have another look at the pix.

'Soiling Pattaya's image'? Seriously? How would it be possible to 'spoil Payyata's image'?

No charges for assault? Just a pat on the back from the police? Amazing Thailand, indeed.

saying he was sorry for spoiling the good name of the resort,

That will definitely half the punishment to 250 baht!

And claiming a "misunderstanding".

What would you do with drug dealers, pat them on the back and say "Well done!"?

Not bad at all.

Why not beat the crap out of us after the grilling on entry at the airport. It helps us to understand what's in store for us once we hit the road - excusing the Pun !!!

"I want to apologise for what I did and spoiling the good name of Pattaya." That's gotta be up there with the joke of the year

Spitting on a thai ruffian on walking street....hmmmm...and xpecting a kiss in return.

Spitting at someone isn't something I approve of (that's if it's true), but for offering to sell someone drugs he deserves to be crapped on.

Never mind though, don't suppose it matters if you're an apologist.

I agree. The photo shows the bizarre methods of polite, police treatment of those charged with violent crimes against persons. The interview, if any, should have been conducted with the tout in a jail uniform, behind bars and awaiting trial.

No apology for the crime or victim. Only an apology for the already soiled "image" of this town.

Tout who attacked Russian tourist sorry for spoiling Pattaya's image

you didn't spoil it, you confirmed it

good job thumbsup.gif

"....sorry for spoiling the good name of the resort" Must be a different Pattaya to the one I know. Pattaya and a good name? He must be on a controlled substance
