Good News For Thai Non-imm O Visa Holders

Featured Replies

I have read all entries and have not seen myself fall entirely under one catagorie or be able to relate 100% to someone as of yet. Anyway my situation

Under 50 years of age

Have income that would give me 50Kbaht/month

married to a thai

no children

What documentation would be required if I applied for a non-Imm O for the first time and how do you guarante one's income of 50K/month is it comes from monthly distribution from investments. I could always take from the capital to make up the difference if need be but what kind of letter is this?

Also I have a marrage certificate.

Declaration of income letter notarized and obtained at your Embassy in Thailand.

like i said as to having a child on another thread.

Here in PHUKET immigration , I checked with the head officier and this is what they want to see

1. Birth certificate of child

2. House registrtaion of Child

3. some form of ID, ( I will use her thai passport)

4. they want to see 500,000 in the bank for 3 months. I know this is not stated on the website but that's what they want to see in Phuket

4. I am not married but divorced so they want to see that paper as well which also grants me sole custody of my child.

I am currently on a 1 year retirement extenison so am over 50

So far I have seen post from Sunbelt (6,500) and I heard from another law firm, (7,900) that can do this with no momey in the bank BUT only in Bangkok.

I have not seen anyone post they they have done it on their own anywhere.

so once again I ask

Has anyone done it on their own?

If your going for the extension based on being married, as far as showing income... you must show the equivalent of 400,000/year or 33,000/month, via a letter notorized by the embassy. ( for Americans it is very easy as they dont ask for prove but you do need to swear it is true)

Here in Phuket the letter alone will not suffice but it must show in ur bank the monthly deposits.

The above is not valid for person married under 50 with no child. The only yearly extension of stay would involve 40k monthly family income without other factors (poster of above quote has child/student).

True, I forgot to mention that BUT i thouhgt it was evident as I stated that i was currently on a retirement extension.

Is it 40,000/month or 400,000 if your going with thai wife? Phuket wants to see 400,000 in the bank or equivalent if support of thai child or for having thai wife

ONLY can get with support for thai child if you had it before (grandfathered in)

Family extension of stay is 40k "family" income. There is no other option unless grandfathered under the old support Thai wife clause and poster says it is his first application so will not be under the "support" clause.

To convert a tourist visa to non immigrant (prior to extension of stay application) uses the old 400k bank deposit amount.
