Scene of the accident on March 13 in Ayutthaya province.

AYUTTHAYA — A wealthy businessman who killed two graduate students in a high-speed car crash has agreed to a blood test 15 days after the accident, a police commander said.

Blood was taken today from the 37-year-old suspect, Jenphop Viraporn, who had not been tested sooner because police lacked his consent to do so, according to Maj. Gen. Sutthi Puangpikul, commander of Ayutthaya police.

Trying to work out the purpose of this blood-test.

Are drivers allowed to refuse a breath-test until it suits them ?

The Thai-English actress did so when she drove into a police-car and killed the sleeping occupant.

And now this.

And in a few years from now, another police general will wonder why the system has failed to do it's job

properly like the case with the red bull kid now......

What a joke this is. 15 days later?? Really??

Furthermore, he will probably be able to use the results from that test to escape punishment if their is a court hearing for it. A big IF

I'm sure he already knows he will pass..as he's waited long enough and being tested already to make sure..either that or like the 'test' done in the KT issue its rigged..wouldn't it be refreshing if one day a HiSo was pulled immediately after the accident and tested straight away before any money changes hands !! Not in my life time I feel!

You need to be very confident in the apathy or low intelligence of the general population to be this obvious with corruption.

This and all the other Hi-So vehicular homicide cases.

One never knows what amount of money will exchange hands,

once at the hospital and promises are made

being of wealthy stature already moving on with

his breathing life.

No, you're not allowed to refuse.

" Police lacked his consent ", so was that because he was never asked, he refused which legally he can't or did a doctor certify he was not medically fit to be tested ?

As usual more questions than answers and surprise surprise senior officers talking at cross-purposes. The BIB have a foul reputation which they do nothing to improve and even when they do get things right it's hard to believe them and their own presentation doesn't help.

Brewery Alcohol Fueled Party Organisation comes readily to mind but the galling aspect is that so often the supposed incompetence is actually by those acting deliberately.

I think it can take up to 2 weeks for certain drugs to get out of your system.

So after 15 days agreeing to a test (not taking it) renders it a waste of time and resources.

All your questions have been answered already. More questions than answers only means you're not up to speed.

Just another act in this particular dog and pony show to placate the masses.

The underlying power structure of this society means people from families like Jenphop are immune from the criminal justice system.

So you accept all the answers and that's that ? !

Does anyone really believe that any hospital would treat anyone after the accident without taking a blood sample for typing ?

Of course there is some blood from after the accident, the hospital's are just colluding to protect another hi-so under the guise of patient confidentiality

One set of laws for THEM and another for US.its very obvious

if you are rich you can get away with bloody murder, here, and

there seems to be no shame involved in this, its the status quo.

I was thinking the same thing, so we can rule out cannabis which takes longer. How about they test his hair which will give a much better indication of the type of party favours this guy was on.

The real comedy would start if he failed this test.

You're right but I expect he has had a private test done to insure no chemicals in his blood. If they really wanted to know they would test a strand of his hair. Chemicals stay in the hair over a month. But I'm sure that's not going to happen.

This incompetence is incredible. Think the responsible really that the population is so stupid ?

Disgusting as here the law is flouted again and again.

Lol, the little prince now is fit and ready to make his test. If this country wasn't disgraceful, his refusal to make test should prove him DUI already. Disgusting.
