New cycle path ?

[emoji20] The first guess and hit it...

Yes it's a new cycle path.

But as you can see it's very narrow for walking then. Only one way possible.

And the bike path itself also quite narrow. If the make put the poles also, forget to walk there anymore.

In my opinion this is a death birth already and waste of money.

I wonder who plans and agrees to such construction. Thainess at it's best.

If you want to make a bike path then at the most left lane of the road.

This is Tokyo-style...That's the only annoying thing i noticed in Tokyo, cyclists between pedestrians everywhere.

Now wait untill the first motobike uses it.

A special surface to keep venders food carts more secure [emoji106]

A number of new so called cycle paths I have seen, they have basically just painted a picture of a bicycle on the path or at the side of the road. There has been no new construction and in true Thai style nobody takes any notice of it anyway, road markings here are nothing more than paint on the road, they have no actual meaning to anyone.

Why build a cycle path when they already use the sidewalk for bicycles and motor bikes (I believe they are working on getting cars on the side but have not mastered it yet)

Doesn't matter how the construction is done as long as there is budget spending. That's the way it works.

Unbelievable. Just like the the wasted paint used for zebra crossings which to the uninitiated is a sure way to get hit by a car if you use them.

It's already done.

most likely just repaving/fixing the sidework one side at a time leaving room for pedestrains to walk....

Yeah, you cant make this shit up

Surely it would have been more reasonable to put it as part of the road.....

Ah stop bitching, I was in Phuket Town today and they're near completion of a particularly long stretch of paving exactly like this (but prettier biggrin.png ) and it's wholeheartedly welcomed by those of us willing and able to get our, fat or not, <deleted> out of our air conditioned Single Person Occupancy's aka cars and WALK somewhere instead of sitting in traffic polluting the already polluted air. And never mind cycles, motosais will be using them anyway, as per. Moan moan moan.

What are you talking about?

If you use a pedestrian crossing in Bangkok, cars will stop.

Some one is receiving a "kick back" I think. There can be no other rational explanation for this idiocy. Just thinking whistling.gif

In new york you get a $200 fine for riding on the footpath. Here, where the footpaths are not even safe for feet, they paint bicycle path markings on them. Amazing Thailand indeed.
