How many expats are there in thailand?

If Thailand has a population of 62,000,000 people, how many are foreigners, and can you break down the figures to expatriates, retired, etc?

I was very surprised to read that Pattaya has roughly 10,000 to 15,000 expats! See http://www.pattayaexpatsclub.com/best_of_pattaya.htm

That alone is many work permits etc, i'm starting to wonder if the expat in Thailand thing, is much much larger than I originally had thought ...
