Quick multiple entry visa run from Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a multiple entry non-immigrant visa (not tourist visa) and have to leave the country every 90 days or pay 1,900THB to change my visa type. I live in Bangkok and think there must be a way to cross a border nearby (without paying for another country's visa - like a Cambodian visa) much cheaper. Does anyone do this quite easily or have any advice? Visa services I've found online cost about 2,500THB so that is pointless (I may as well pay the 1,900THB at the local immigration office).

For those that say you cannot do this I was at the visa immigration office yesterday and for my visa type you can but I just forgot to book a cheap flight out of the country in advance.

All suggestions / advice is really appreciated.

Thank you!!!!

1. To extend stay at immigration you require a valid reason and supporting documents - it is not a different visa. And yes all extensions cost 1,900 baht (plus any expense getting documents and making application).

2. Land exits require entry to other country prior to return and most people will require a visa for the other country.

3. You can fly to a visa exempt country and return - but for most that will be more expensive.

Simple run was Nok Air to Mai Sot, last time I went was something like 1,200 baht return. stamp out of Thailand walk over the bridge go into Immigration Office [burma] pay 500 baht and the officer stamp in and out.. No visa required. walk back over the bridge and Thai Immigration stamp passport for another 90 days in Thailand.

that was about 5 years ago..
