What exactly is a Thai pink ID card?
Just sometimes, the benefits of living in the provinces: as the only current long-term farang in our town of 8,000 the senior office lady had to find the manual, gave me a list of required documents and went through the process with me - gave an appointment the following week. Provided the docs plus attended with one Thai witness, the second one was unavailable but the office woman knew him (he's the former land office manager, now retired) and said it was a good excuse for her to visit him at his home. Amazing. Given a time to come back, multiple copies to initial or sign, given the yellow book (no fee) then a 'sit down please' for photo, paid 60b and walked out with yellow book, pink non-Thai ID card. Two weeks later was accepted for my car and motorcycle licences - they took copies of both yellow/pink. Licences show my ID number not my passport number as previous ones did. On a roll, I then went to open a Kasikorn account (already with Bangkok Bank) and similarly, simple process. No real 'value' except for convenience. Note here the otherwise helpful Chanthaburi Immigration office do not issue residence letters, instead referring you to your embassy which isn't convenient to me. As others have, or will, mention, experiences vary, but that was mine. -

Crime Malaysian Tourists Cause Uproar in Hat Yai with Noisy Midnight Street Racing
Yes, I know. There is nothing wrong with me. In this case it´s you that totally missed the point. I referred to that they as usual fine people for something. Tell them it´s illegal, but still let them drive on Thai roads home after paying the fine. 😉 -

Accident Construction Worker Trapped After Falling Into Deep Pit at Bangkok Subway Site
UPDATE Construction Worker Plunges Into Borehole as Ground Collapses at Bangkok Subway Site Pictures from responders. A construction worker is feared seriously injured after falling into a deep borehole at a subway construction site in central Bangkok following a sudden ground collapse. The victim, identified as Mr. Sarawut Chantasorn, 33, from Sisaket province, was working on pile-driving operations at the time of the incident. According to Mr. Thanawat, a colleague who witnessed the event, Mr. Sarawut had been standing at the edge of an old borehole, preparing to begin drilling a new shaft. Without warning, the ground beneath Mr. Sarawut gave way, likely due to soil subsidence around the old excavation site. He lost his balance and plunged into the shaft, estimated to be about 19 metres deep. Emergency teams, including police and rescue workers, are currently attempting to retrieve the trapped worker. The extent of Mr. Sarawut’s injuries is not yet known. The site is part of an ongoing underground rail project aimed at expanding Bangkok’s MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) network. Gemini 2.5 Advanced: It's sucking out the contents of my brain. Big Time!
We will have. I never said we will not. What I am saying, is that it will not be made to perfection. Who likes errors? -

Gemini 2.5 Advanced: It's sucking out the contents of my brain. Big Time!
No problem, I was just replying to your assumption that I would be employed. That happened 2,5 years directly after I stopped my education. Since after that, I have been running my own businesses. Of course I harness the opportunity of AI. That´s for sure. Like you say, it´s like taking candy from a baby. Not very nice, by the way it sounds, but a big pay check at the end of the rainbow and during the time. For some examples, I am running a re-write service with content spin option based on AI. I have connected AI tools on automated scripts to my many websites and stuff like that. Using AI for prediction of strategies and leverage AI for investment opportunities. By the sound of it, you seem to be on the gravy train as well. Good luck. But we all know. Luck is not a factor to success. 😉 -

Trump on Supreme Court: They should do what I want
So interesting, there's a real industry behind it. I mean you can understand the need of the people seeking the passport sometimes. But selling passports, it's just wrong surely.
