PHUKET: -- The young thug who threw a rock at a vehicle on Thepkassattri Rd causing it to crash into a roadside pylon on Tuesday (May 3) may face charges of premeditated attempted murder after the driver of the vehicle filed a complaint with police yesterday (May 5).

Jatuporn Kanpai, 25, the driver of the Mazda 2 involved in the incident went to Phuket City Police Station with his family at 4.30pm yesterday (May 4) and filed a complaint against Mr Anucha Yeemuda who has admitted he was the person who threw the rock at the vehicle after handing himself in to police on Tuesday. (See story here.)

Lt Col Chalaew Taihu, who received the complaint, said that Mr Jatuporn wants Anucha to face a charge of premeditated attempted murder because he crashed his car because Anucha threw the rock at it.

Mr Jatuporn also wants Anucha to pay for the repairs to the vehicle and also the medical expenses his wife Sunisa Kongkam, 22, has incurred whilst being treated for a broken right leg and left arm at Vachira Hospital.

No doubt a ratbag but some irony in the 'fact' that those who actually kill seemed to get charged with lesser offences, eg, causing injury, death rather than murder, ie those who were responsible for the death of the disabled father of 2 in Bangkok on Sunday

Seen the initial video....the car abruptly cut off the bike and an argument ensued. The car driver started it and the bike rider finished it....was really stupid throwing a rock at a car....anyone would think he was the son of a policemancoffee1.gif

And i wish the car driver well. Hope the judiciary do the right thing and put the rock throwing idiot in jail for a long time

yes lets hope the small man that tries to kill motorbikes for fun with a baby in the back of his car gets better and starts going back on the road.. That's what the world needs, little men that throw death threats to people they've almost killed on purpose just because they can finally afford a small car and they are now able to overpower some even poorer chaps on bikes.

I watched the video. Didn't seriously cut the bike off. Think something may have happened earlier. Car behind the culprit had no problem, bike going down the inside did. That is why I ride my bike on the road instead of the shoulder. IMO riding on the shoulder is a death wish.

Attempted murder is a bit of a reach. He did not intend to kill anyone. Maybe reckless

endangerment ? coffee1.gif

Good point; he is not a stone cold killer. If he keeps his nose to the grindstone and keeps on the granite path to redemption; he may avoid a rocky trial.

BS- there was no aggressive cutting up of the bike if you watch the vid properly, although something may have happened earlier. The driver and the bike pulled in, the driver pulled away, pulled in again and pulled out again as the biker coming towards him aggressively. I would have done exactly the same.

The MB driver was then alerted by his wife(?) and ran across the median strip to throw the rock- a deliberate action.

Amazes me that even in a situation like this there are apologists for this thug. I take it you are a bike rider.

I get pissed off with bikes driving aggressively and cutting me up all the time.

The first 10 second shows the car cutting aggresively the bike.

Right after that, you can see the car driver giving a death threat to the biker.

Then you see him running away and getting what he deserves.

You are obviously very challenged when it comes to driving if you think its normal for a car thats about to turn right at a uturn to turn left into an incoming pickup truck

MOnIzNw.png

and then to turn left again when theres an other obstacle on the left

DfVWhbU.png

here you can see him after having given the finger, running away and turning into the lane without looking for incoming cars and bike, almost killing an other bike.

BHFF4v4.png

Y7GGvXe.png

right after you see him turn towards the uturn spot, almost clipping a car by not signaling or looking at incoming cars but its hard to see on screenshot.

and again here you can see him turning at the uturn in front of a car that was already turning, he also went into the incoming lane without looking, almost crashing into people coming the other way

The driver of the mazda is a complete lunatic. Him being disabled and not being able to drive would be a blessing for people's children. He'll certainely kill someone one of these days.

Can you post the picture of the "death threat" please?

The rock throwing should have led to serious charges being leveled by the police.

I am interested that it would appear that a complaint was required before this matter was deemed to be serious !

The thugs rock throwing action could have easily resulted in death(s).

I think the complaint will have to wait a long time for the money he is (rightfully) claiming.

"The rock throwing should have led to serious charges being leveled by the police. "

Agreed.

And the dangerous driver of the car should have been charged as well given there is video evidence.

"The thugs rock throwing action could have easily resulted in death(s)."

Usually having your car hit by a rock does not result in death (even deliberately thrown ones, I speak from experience). If the driver is any good it should not even result in an accident. Unless of course that driver has his mind on road rage rather than driving.

"Usally having your car hit by a rock does not result in death". Got some statistics on that have you? Seem to recall it was a bit of fun for kids in the UK several years ago to drop bricks off motorway bridges onto cars. Believe people were killed.

a rock that fits in the palm of your hand is not a brick

the mazda road raged himself into a pillon, the rock had nothing to do with it. It was either that or buddah's way of getting a complete maniac, that had almost killed over 5 people in the spawn of 1min, off the road

Please enlighten me as to how big a rock/stone needs to be before it is a danger to a car driver. Witnessed kids pretending to throw objects at cars, lucky an accident did not happen. Hope it never happens to you but apparently you are such a good driver that you would not flinch.

Both motor cycle and car drivers should be charged. The motor cycle rider for throwing a rock at a moving vehicle and the car driver for being out of control and driving a vehicle in a reckless manner

Something similar happened to me, riding in traffic maybe 10 cars or so banked up by a slow moving vehicle.

I'm on my mocy, a woman decides she has to start passing from way back in the line and then moves into the space I am in, there was no shoulder, only broken road with pot holes and gravel etc.

I'm beeping my horn, but to no avail she just forced me off the road, luckily I'm quite an experienced dirt rider so was able to not crash, though it was tricky on a basic scooter.

That imo is premeditated attempted murder, funnily my very powerful 110cc bike might have accidentally sprayed a 'handful' of small stones over her car as I caught up and accelerated passed her.
