What is the deal with the Pink non-Thai ID cards?

Recently, I have seen a poster for this new ID card.. Looks like the Thai Blue version for the nationals..

Is there any real benefit of having this type of ID?

I understand you need to meet the requirements:

1. Own a home ( with name on yellow book)

2. Marriage to a Thai
