Quote: "On arrival at the airport he reported the matter to police who said they would do nothing because he had already paid."

This needs explaining

Quite right: does that also mean that the police wouldn't investigate a murder because the victim was already dead?

Obviously it doesn't, there's no correlation between the circumstances at all.

Thai police will do nothing unless there is money in it. Wife's sister had her car stolen and sold on. The female culprit was spotted in Ban Amphur & police called who took her to station. The BIB wanted 10K to set wheels/<deleted> in motion. The sister had to continue paying her bank car loan for 3 years. The culprit is still out & about.

The same old myth being promulgated by another basher.

"The sister had to continue paying her bank car loan for 3 years."

Why didn't she claim on her insurance?

Wasn't there big talks a few years ago by the "big man" that they were stamping out corruption of Police & Officials? Nice to see it working perfectly!

My thai g/f just caught a taxi from Bang Khuntian to Suvabum and she said what was normally 280 to 300 baht was 500+.The driver is known to her and she has used him for 4 years or so as he lives next door virtually. So there is no honour obviously.I guess we wont use him anymore.
