What about Rafa......you guys warming to him yet, divided or still think he has been sent from Merseyside to destroy Chelsea? biggrin.png

He might very well be ok. Liverpool were never a threat to us in the league under his management, because he had to change the team every week, and the scouser,s didn,t have a good enough squad for that, where as we havewink.png

Aside 08/09 that is thumbsup.gif

I just wondered cause I hear a lot of people commenting on articles on newspaper sites, who were slagging him off at first, now they think he might be the man to take the job full time, fickle us football fans

Probably the worst I have seen Chelsea play for a long time in the first half, well maybe first 30 minutes. Everton were the better team today, although I was suprised they didn't shoot on sight with Turnbull in goal.

Well done Lampard 2 goals and now only 1 away from Dixon's record and 10 from Tambling's. I hope chelsea keep him in a Scholes / Giggs capacity. He may not be the player he once was, but he still has something to give.

Seems Ba will be coming to the bridge. I wonder if that means we will play more of a 442 formation?

Yes, I hope he stays too, he's been good for Chelsea

Although Chelsea weren't particularly brilliant, their defence remained solid and to their credit they did manage to break Everton's unbeaten home record. To move to within four points of second-placed City with a game in hand isn't bad at all, after all the hoo ha this season.

Why would i say that ? what i'm saying is that to be a big club you have to have a history over a very long period and that history includes large average attendances, by Chelsea's reckoning and attendances any club that acquies a few bob would be a big club within 10 years !!!!

Did you know that Manchester City broke the record for the highest home attendance of any club in English football history, as 84,569 fans packed Maine Road for a sixth round FA Cup tie against Stoke City in 1934. That record still stands to this day.

Just saying biggrin.png

Not according to this http://thechels.info..._(1945_Friendly) the official attendance was 74,496. The rest can't be accounted for and so isn't official figures. I suppose you were so young and small then that it seemed like 100,000 tongue.png And according to this http://en.wikipedia...._football_clubs your highest was 82,905 against Arsenal.

Just saying

In terms of being big and elite you are about the same level as Porto but with more money.

Get over it

The figures maybe unofficial but that doesn't stop them being true.

Just saying.

I'll tell you what, the inbalence between the money spent in the transfer market since you recently became big and elite and the money recovered from sales is an absolute disgrace. Thanks for those stats they are very enlightening.

Chelsea are very similar to someone thats recently won the lottery and doesn't know how to handle their new found wealth.

As Chelsea keep on winning these days, I am sure what Benitez is saying to himself after each win is something like 'Take that, you suckers', referring to the Chelsea fans who had been booing him since his appointment smile.png

Don't get me wrong. I am not pro or anti Benitez and I don't see the anti-Benitez folks as suckers ; I am just objectively guessing that he is probably saying such stuff to himself smile.png

Good job football is a sport about success and trophies and not a business about the bottom line then.
