CityNews – 19th May, Parents of Phurit Rakpracha, the victim who was shot as he entered a fight to help his friends in a late night fight at Kad Suan Kaew, has asked The Military District Commander to help find justice for their son. The parents say that the police issued an arrest warrant for the two suspects over 10 days ago, but still there has been no progress.

The incident happened on 8th May at Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Complex, where a fight broke out between friends following a concert at 1.45am. The melee saw many friends and acquaintances fighting amongst themselves and after the fight dispersed, it was soon picked up again.

Phurit tried to help his friends by separating them from the fight when he was shot by a 9mm handgun. He sustained serious injuries and is still in a coma.

"The 22 year old gunman named, Pathompong Choomtawee, works as a security guard at the entertainment venue, though the police did not release information on the second person they are looking for in their warrant. The police told CityNews that Pathompong had shot a foreign tourist last year in the city, but did not give us any further information and said that the case had been hushed up. He also said that police found a photograph of Pathompong on his social media page holding a gun, and police speculate that he has no fear of arrest."

The gunman shot a foreigner last year, the case is hushed up, and he is allowed to work as a security guard and carry a gun this year. Now he's shot another person and the police know his name, but ten days later there has been no arrest. It seems the police have information on the second person involved but are not releasing it.

Why do I get the impression these two have connections and little or nothing will happen to them?

"The entertainment complex has been given a firm warning about adhering to the law."

Yeah, that'll fix everything.

Thai justice.

What happened doesn't matter... only the level of wictim and perpetrator decides if anything will happen.

With the coming age of modern technology, social media, etc etc it just means that those in charge have to make up more lies, make more excuses, and look more incompetent.

A small price for catching the wrong level of Thai.

Not talking about Justice , but this guy is dangerous . Why ? Because his behaviour might damage the reputation of Thailand , that is known world-wide for the always smiling , friendly people , who like to give a warm welcome to everybody , ( with a bullet )

It would be interesting to have someone investigate further and find the "foriegner" that was shot......and exactly why/when and how it got shut up.....Hmmmm was that also after the new administration took over? to stop corruption....hmmm

Be fair, it wasn't just any old warning but a firm one.

Thailand does not have any investigative journalists,Thai or Farang,it's just too dangerous for them, the last Farang one,

left after he and his kids were threatened ,if you mean the police, they seemed to have covered it up in first place.
