Wongs is hardly a club. Rather a slightly grim late night dive bar where the staff will watch you like a hawk until you finish your drink, then rather aggressively insist you immediately buy another.

yes, I was going to suggest Check-in...kind of corny filipino cover band....200 thb jugs of Heineken...I checked out EQ late night bar....not really old music..but kind of like a disco..it was the old nana disco...and 11pm to 1am for 300 you get all you can drink Singhas and booze...I managed 8 beers and finished the night with a shot of tequilla...compare that to spending 120 for one beer....I was ahead of the game by 11:30.....clean place..no goons....beer needs to be a little colder..but it wasn't warm or I didn't have to put ice in my beer...no ladyboys in the club...open until 4 or 5.

So i found out one night not that long back....will think 3 times before i go back to Saxophone club again, been many times but last time my dinner went right through me, not a nice thought when you have the runs and you have to squat, you would think in this day and age there would be more than 2 cubicles in the mens toilet of one western one asian.

If your into sleepy jazz Brown Sugar does it well, use to be a good place after 11 pm now its bring your sleeping bag with you, can recommend Hard Rock Cafe BKK....the filipino band knocks out the best cover I've ever heard of Jump by Van Halen.
